Podcast of the Week: Gregg Doyel Joins Aaron Torres to Talk About Lane Kiffin

Every Friday we bring you a podcast of the week. This week we're going to check out Aaron Torres' podcast with Gregg Doyel. It's about one of the more intriguing topics in college football; Lane Kiffin.

Aaron Torres, over at Aaron Torres Sports, a great corner of the Internet with plenty of solid sports opinions and a refreshing take on all things sports, got a chance to have CBS Sports columnist Gregg Doyel on the podcast this week. Doyel, as we all know, is one of college football's more well known writers and he, along with the rest of the stellar team at CBS, are really hammering down college football from many angles. This show revolves around a recent column Doyel penned after spending a little time with one of college football's lightning wrongs, Lane Kiffin. 

Before getting into the show, Torres and Doyel do something that's really cool; they pull back the curtain on the process of getting this story out. That's something most people never think to ask and something not many writers get an opportunity to talk about. Then, they get to the meat of this 20 minute podcast pretty quickly, talking about The Laner.

Doyel and Torres get through everything about his Kiffin piece and talk about the young head coach as he has transitioned from Tennessee to USC and all that has come with it. The maturation process of Lane Kiffin has been something to watch as he grows into one of the premier young guys in the game, and looks to be one of the guys everyone knows is a problem; both on the field and in recruiting. 

The pair also talk about the casual fan reaction to the article. The "Lane Kiffin is terrible" and "Lane Kiffin can't coach" memes still exist among so many either ill-informed fans or people blinded by their hatred, and Doyel address this in his talk with Torres. All in all, it's just a great listen that I highly recommend.
