The Top 2013 Commitment for Each SEC School As of 2012 Media Days

Edwin WeathersbyJun 7, 2018

The SEC Media Days are over, and it's been a crazy week. This event always provides good laughs, juicy trash talk, intrigue and showcases the SEC as a conference of powerful programs.

With this read, I'm going to quickly run down the top commitment that each SEC head coach has sewn up already for 2013.

Let's begin.

Vanderbilt

1 of 14

Top Prospect: Johnathon McCrary, QB

I really like the 6'3", 180-pound McCrary as a dual-threat QB prospect. He's a bit raw in his overall technique, but he has solid arm talent, mobility and makes plays.

McCrary can elude the rush inside the pocket, escape from traffic and throw on the run or eat yards with his legs and speed.

Texas A&M

2 of 14

Top Prospect: Derrick Griffin, WR/TE

Griffin is a 6'6", 220-pounder that plays WR now, but is likely to move to TE. He has solid speed to get downfield in his routes, quick feet and separation quickness to detach from coverage.

He plays like a post player to shield off defenders to catch the ball and has a huge catch radius. Griffin will be monster in the red zone.

Tennessee

3 of 14

Top Prospect: Kameron Miles, S

Miles is a Texas native who plays in the secondary with a big 6'2", 212-pound frame. He has good straight-line speed, which allows him to squeeze the box well from the back end.

He runs well enough to play with range when he keeps his pads low and could also develop into a great OLB.

South Carolina

4 of 14

Top Prospect: Larenz Bryant, OLB

I could have gone with Connor Mitch, Matt Rolin or D.J. Park, but today I'm going with Bryant. He's a 6'2", 210-pounder from North Carolina with excellent athleticism, speed and pursuit ability.

Bryant can easily play all three downs and be a "Mike" linebacker in big nickel situations.

Missouri

5 of 14

Top Prospect: Nick Ramirez, LB

An in-state product, Ramirez is a 6'2", 230-pound LB prospect that could fit well right in the middle. He has solid athleticism, will step up into run alleys and has the size to be disruptive. Look for him to become a leader on the Tigers defense before he leaves.

Mississippi State

6 of 14

Top Prospect: Kailo Moore, RB

The Bulldogs will be getting faster with the addition of Moore, as the 5'11", 185-pounder has excellent speed. He has a deceptively thick frame that could allow him to grow into a three-down back.

Moore can skate around the field, jump to the edges, turn his shoulders upfield and cause problems on the second and third levels of a defense.

Ole Miss

7 of 14

Top Prospect: Antonio Allen, S

Allen is an Indiana native who can play in the SEC. He's a 5'10" safety that goes about 195-200 pounds. He looks like a great SS who can be a factor inside the box vs. the run, yet has some speed to hold up in zone coverage.

QB commits Devante Kincade and Ryan Buchanan were also considered.

LSU

8 of 14

Top Prospect: Ethan Pocic, OT

The Tigers nabbed Pocic from Illinois. The 6'6", 290-pounder is nasty in the trenches. He looks to play big, strong and physical at the point of attack, sustains well and can finish blocks.

Pocic will fit best at RT, and his mean streak can really help power the right side of LSU's rushing attack down the line.

Kentucky

9 of 14

Top Prospect: Alvonte Bell, DE

The Wildcats' class is finally starting to take shape, as it's led by the 6'5", 220-pound Bell. He's a speed DE with long arms to keep blockers away from his body, athleticism to maneuver in his rush and quickness to finish.

He's raw with his technique and pass-rush plan, but with his length and athleticism, he should be solid in Lexington.

Georgia

10 of 14

Top Prospect: Shaq Wiggins, CB

Wiggins is a quick-footed 5'10", 170-pound cover corner with outstanding athleticism. He can come out of transition with ease, plant, drive and close sharply on the ball.

Wiggns plays tough and can even play FS in little base packages. Look for him to become a standout in Athens.

Florida

11 of 14

Top Prospect: Kelvin Taylor, RB

Taylor, son of Fred Taylor, will follow in his father's legacy by toting the rock in Gainesville. He has a natural feel for the position, showing great run instincts, vision and patience.

Yet, he makes his money by bursting through alleys and eluding 'backers at the second level.

Auburn

12 of 14

Top Prospect: Reuben Foster, LB

Foster is the best incoming commitment to the SEC. He stands at a max of 6'2", 250 pounds with great speed, quickness, athleticism, strength, instincts, smarts and ball vision.

He can make plays from his 'backer spot and should be a plug-and-play player at Auburn.

Arkansas

13 of 14

Top Prospect: Hunter Henry, TE

According to Scout.com, Henry has verbally committed to Arkansas and is its top pledge. He's a 6'6", 250-pounder who can get downfield and catch passes with soft hands, and his large strike zone should make him an easy target for Razorback QBs.

His thick body is begging to be taught how to dominate as a blocker, and when he does learn, he will grow into a complete TE.

Alabama

14 of 14

Top Prospect: O.J. Howard, TE

Howard is a 6'5", 225-pounder from Alabama who is an amazingly gifted athlete. He has the size, length, speed, quickness, feet and hands to become a big-time weapon in the reforming Crimson Tide passing game.

Howard can separate from defenders, win jump ball situations and be flexed out like a WR. He has the athletic talent to become a star at TE in Tuscaloosa.
