Louis Freeh Press Conference: Investigator Publicly Addresses Penn State Scandal
A new report detailing the involvement and actions by Penn States officials, including former head football coach Joe Paterno, with regard to the Jerry Sandusky child abuse scandal was released on Thursday by the law firm Freeh Sporkin & Sullivan, LLP.
You can download and read the report via Freeh Sporkin & Sullivan, LLP here, and watch the live press conference where Louis Freeh will talk about the report on ESPN3. I encourage anyone who is not familiar with the situation at Penn State to read the report.
Here is a quote from Freeh during his press conference, via ESPN's SportsCenter.
""The most powerful men at Penn State failed to take any steps for 14 years to protect the children who Sandusky victimized " -Louis Freeh

The report confirms what many of us had imagined for months, which is that university officials chose to do very little in stopping Sandusky from abusing young boys. The fact that the people at the top of the school protected Sandusky for years is very disturbing.
Sandusky was convicted on 45 of 48 counts at his sexual abuse trial last month, according to CNN (via Bleacher Report) and has not yet been sentenced.
It will be interesting to see how this report affects Penn State on a number of levels.
