CFB Recruiting 2013: 15 Recruits That Could Wind Up Anywhere Right Now
With Nike's The Opening concluding this weekend, many recruits got to talk recruiting with each other, while of course also displaying their talents on the field.
With the summer now in full swing, recruiting will heat up a bit as recruits and college coaches will scale back a bit next month to get ready for their respective seasons.
For this read, I'm going to give you 15 recruits that could end up anywhere as it sits right now.
15. Alquadin Muhammad, DE
1 of 15Muhammad is a 6'3", 230-pound DE prospect from New Jersey that can also kick back and play some OLB as a rush end.
He comes from national prep powerhouse program, Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, New Jersey which was ranked No. 1 in the nation just about the entire season last year.
Ramsey has a slew of offers and right now I could see him ending up at Michigan, Rutgers, South Carolina or Notre Dame.
14. MarQuez North, WR
2 of 15North is a big 6'3", 210-pound WR with good deep speed, length and playmaking skills. He's from North Carolina and really seems to have put recruiting off to the side lately.
He's a bit tough to figure out, as right now, I can see North signing with an array of schools.
From Oregon to Florida to Georgia to North Carolina to Clemson to NC State and more, he's still pretty open.
13. David Williams, RB
3 of 15Williams is a RB prospect from Pennsylvania that goes 6'1", 185 pounds. He's an all-purpose back as he would work well in both the running game and as a receiver out of the backfield.
Penn State could be thick in the mix for his services, yet I also warn not too sleep on other schools like South Carolina, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
Even Ohio State, Arizona State, Pitt, West Virginia and Cal shouldn't be counted out just yet.
12. Joe Mathis, DE
4 of 15Mathis has really used this offseason to shed some excess weight and improve his quickness. He's a 6'4", 250-pound DE that hails from Southern California.
He's still very open at this point, as he recently informed Rivals.com that he has a top 10 of: Alabama, Washington, USC, UCLA, Michigan, Nebraska, Texas A&M, Arizona State, Tennessee and Hawaii.
Some say it's a three-team race in reality between Nebraska, Washington and Michigan, but Mathis maintains he's still open to all 10.
11. Mackensie Alexander, CB
5 of 15Alexander is purely and surely one of the best all-around football players in the state of Florida this year. He's a 5'11", 185-pounder that will play CB and also has good skills at RB and WR.
He used to be committed to Tennessee, but the coaching staff changes forced him to back off from it. Also, at one point in the spring, I felt Clemson was the new team to beat, yet he's cooled on that.
Alexander could wind up anywhere, from Clemson to Notre Dame to Alabama to Florida to Miami to Florida State or somewhere else.
10. Torrodney Prevot, DE
6 of 15Prevot is a bit light in the pants for DE, as he only weighs between 205-215 pounds, but his 6'4" frame will tack on the necessary bulk in college.
The only question is, where will that be? He's from Texas, so the Longhorns are a prime option. Yet, Prevot also has schools like USC, LSU, Cal, A&M and Oklahoma pursuing him.
He'll take his time and decide when he feels right.
9. Justin Manning, DT
7 of 15Manning is a Dallas native that looks like a LB at 6'2" and a slim 275 pounds. Yet, he plays DT and is super quick off the ball, shoots gaps and plays in the offense's backfield.
He's really taken his time with recruitment, not being in a rush to make a decision and weighing all of his options.
Right now, I think Oklahoma and TCU are the top two schools, yet don't also be shocked if USC, Arkansas, LSU, Oklahoma State or A&M are the pick either.
8. Tahaan Goodman, DB
8 of 15Goodman is a 6'2", 190-pound DB prospect from Southern California that showed out well at The Opening. He has a slew of schools after him and for good reason.
Goodman can play FS, SS and some CB for a secondary and hits well. He also has excellent ball skills and has risen up the board this spring.
I think USC and LSU are the two to watch, but don't be shocked by anything Goodman does because he could opt for anywhere at this point.
7. Montravius Adams, DT
9 of 15Adams is a 6'3", 285-290-pound DT with good snap quickness, hand quickness and athleticism. He's among the elite DT prospects in the nation.
I would say Auburn and Clemson look good right now, but also don't sleep on USC, Alabama, Georgia and Florida.
Look for Adams to take his trips in the fall and winter and then watch to see which powerhouse ends up with his signed LOI on signing day.
6. Vonn Bell, DB
10 of 15Bell is a player that I really like, as he's about 6'0", 190 pounds and can play various positions on the back end. Bell has excellent closing quickness on the ball, play speed, instincts and hits well.
He recently and more so finally, narrowed his down to a top seven. Per 247Sports.com, those seven are: Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Tennessee, Georgia, Texas and Vanderbilt.
He could end up anywhere right now, but look for him to scale his list down further during the fall.
5. Laquon Treadwell, WR
11 of 15Treadwell showed great release quickness at The Opening, as the Illinois native is a 6'2", 190-pound WR with great speed, quickness, length and hands.
For what it's worth, I think Treadwell heads to Michigan, but he's yet to pledge. So that leads me to say that schools like Oklahoma, USC, Oklahoma State, Auburn and Michigan State all are still thick in the race.
247Sports.com seems to feel the same way.
4. Eddie Vanderdoes, DT
12 of 15Vanderdoes is fresh off a great performance at The Opening, where he took home the DL MVP honors.
The 6'4", 300-pounder just recently narrowed his list down to around 10 finalists and according to 247Sports.com, the are: Baylor, Cal, Oregon, Florida, USC, Nebraska, Penn State, Washington, LSU and UCLA.
USC and Oregon would be my guesses, but clearly Vanderdoes is quite open and could end up anywhere.
3. Robert Foster, WR
13 of 15Foster doesn't seem to be quite interested in the recruiting process, as he's open and everyone stands pretty even.
The 6'2", 190-pound WR is from Pennsylvania, so Penn State and Pitt are prime possibilities. Yet, Alabama, Oregon, Florida, USC, Ohio State and a plethora of other schools are on his trail hard.
Right now, it's a bit tough to predict where Foster will end up, as it could be anywhere around the country.
2. Priest Willis, CB
14 of 15LSU, Nebraska and Notre Dame will get visits from Willis, according to 247Sports.com. Yet, those are just three schools among a host of others that he interested in.
A 6'2", 190-pound big corner from Arizona, Willis also has the likes of USC, UCLA, Florida State, Michigan and Oklahoma on his trail among more.
He could be a package deal with Tahaan Goodman, according to Scout.com.
1. Derrick Green, RB
15 of 15Green could end up at among 13 possible schools.
He informed Scout.com last week that Tennessee, Clemson, Michigan, Oregon, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Miami, Virginia Tech, Auburn, Alabama, Pittsburgh, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma are his top 13.
I would also toss in Penn State's name in the hat, as the clearly the 5'11", 225-pound running back is quite open still and could wind up at just about any school.
