David Beckham Suspended 1 Game and Fined Over Skirmish With Earthquakes
David Beckham has been suspended for one game for his role in an altercation between the Los Angeles Galaxy and San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday, according to the official MLS website.
The incident occurred in the 93rd minute of San Jose's 4-3 victory, when Beckham kicked the ball at Earthquakes midfielder Sam Cronin, who was laying in the penalty box with an apparent injury.
The precision strike from Beckham nearly ignited a fight between the two sides, as multiple players and even San Jose's mascot got in on the skirmish. You can watch the video below.

After the MLS Disciplinary Committee reviewed his actions, it decided to fine Beckham an undisclosed amount and suspend him for the Galaxy's game against the Chicago Fire on Sunday.
The yellow card Beckham earned during the match also forced him to miss Wednesday's loss to the Philadelphia Union, as he had accumulated too many cards.
This suspension comes at a bad time for Beckham and the Galaxy, who are currently in sixth place in the Western Conference. They are just 6-10-2 this season despite having Beckham, the most high-profile player in league history.
The Galaxy have just 16 regular-season games remaining, and missing their star midfielder won't help their chances of making the playoffs.
Beckham will return Saturday, July 14, when the Galaxy will take on the Portland Timbers.
