Hope Solo Video: Watch Superstar Keeper Make Epic Save vs. Canada

United States women's soccer star Hope Solo is back at it again, impressing us with just about everything that she does. Her latest save against Canada may be her most impressive feat to date.

She's already known as one of the best women's goal keepers in the world, if not the best, and it's moments like this one where she proves that statement.

The mark of a good goal keeper is being able to read the shot from wherever it is, react to it and get in the best position to make a save. There are many keepers throughout the world who would classify as a good goalie.

Solo takes it above and beyond that description.

The difference between the good and great keepers is their reaction to the unexpected, and this is where Solo really shines in this moment.

You can see that she had herself moving towards the left side (her right) of the goal as she read the shot, and that would have been the proper way to go about saving that ball. What she couldn't factor in, though, was the deflection the ball took off one of her defenders, which instantly changed the projection of the shot—careening it back towards Solo's left.

Somehow, she was able to put on the breaks, plant her foot and dive back towards the ball to make a miraculous one-handed save. If that was it, it would have been impressive enough, but then she was able to gather herself, crawl over to the ball and establish possession, which nullified the efforts of the player who slid to kick the ball loose and over the line.

This is what separates the good keepers from the great keepers.
