NBA Draft 2012 Start Time: Where and When to Watch Thursday's Festivities

Adam WellsJun 28, 2012

The 2012 NBA Draft has more intrigue and excitement than any draft in recent memory because of all the things we don't know. The very top of the draft appears to be all but set, with New Orleans likely making Anthony Davis the new face of the franchise.

Beyond that, no one really knows anything. A lot of things are being talked about right now, but until the picks are actually made, we are all playing the guessing game. That is part of what makes this year a must-watch spectacle.

Here is all of the pertinent information you need to get set for Thursday's NBA Draft festivities.

What To Watch For

What are the Bobcats going to do at No. 2?

If we are to assume the Hornets go with Davis at No. 1, all eyes are on Michael Jordan and Charlotte with the second pick.

The best player available, for me, is Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. He is just 18 years old and still tapping into his potential, so there is a lot of upside there. For a franchise like the Bobcats that needs high-risk, high-reward pieces to at least get back to respectability, Kidd-Gilchrist would seem to be the pick.

But Thomas Robinson's emergence at Kansas last year, combined with a very high floor that he should reach very soon, makes him an intriguing candidate.

What are the Rockets' intentions?

No team has loaded up for a big potential move in this draft like Houston. The team has three first-round picks right now, moving up from No. 14 to 12 on Wednesday in a deal with Milwaukee.

The word on the street (via USA Today) has them looking to land Dwight Howard in a deal with Orlando. That would definitely send shock waves throughout the NBA, but what happens if it doesn't happen?

They have put so many eggs in one basket. What do you do if it doesn't work out?
