9 Elite Recruits Who Could Join Robert Nkemdiche at Clemson
Many times when a big name prospect makes his commitment, other elite players stand up and take notice. Whether they feel they are missing out on something at that school or it's just the thought of playing with that great prospect, the commitment raises that school's profile.
Despite what you may think, Robert Nkemdiche is committed to Clemson, folks. I don't think Nkemdiche is a man to back off his word, yet anything is possible all the time.
For this read, I'm going to give you nine elite prospects that I think could opt to join Nkemdiche at Clemson.
9. Jayron Kearse, WR/OLB
1 of 9Kearse is a long and lean athlete who can play either WR or OLB at 6'4" and around 200 pounds. He's smooth, sneaky quick and has good speed.
Clemson is in the race for the former Auburn and Miami commit. Tack on Southern Cal and Notre Dame to those three and you have a clear-cut top five for the Florida native, per Scout.com.
8. Tyshon Dye, RB
2 of 9Dye is a 6'1", 200-pound back who gets it done with speed. He can burst upfield and get vertical with the football with ease.
Tennessee, Auburn, South Carolina, Georgia and, of course, Clemson make up his top five per Scout.com. The theme here is obviously to stay in the South for the Georgia native, and toting the rock for Clemson is appealing.
Hmm...
7. DeMarcus Robinson, WR
3 of 9Robinson is a 6'2",195-pound Georgia native who has a long frame. He has a large strike zone and solid body control.
Robinson plays with solid speed and can really work the intermediate level of the passing game. Clemson is a co-leader along with Florida right now, per 247Sports.com.
6. Tyrone Crowder, OG
4 of 9Crowder is looking hard at Clemson, as he is with other schools such as South Carolina, Florida, Georgia and Alabama, per 247Sports.com.
A 6'2", 325-pounder from nearby North Carolina, Crowder is a great OG prospect. He has excellent play strength and agility and can factor in both the run game and as a pass protector.
5. Marquez North, WR
5 of 9North is also a North Carolina native, yet he doesn't seem to be too fazed by recruiting too much. At 6'3" and 210 pounds, he reminds me of Terrell Owens with his great size and speed.
North Carolina, Clemson, Georgia, Florida and Ohio State are the schools recruiting him hardest, North tells Scout.com.
The Tigers would be wise to pick up a great WR like North, as he could be a terror to ACC secondaries.
4. Stacy Coley, WR
6 of 9Some say Coley won't leave the state of Florida, but location may not be that big of a deal to him. Sure, I've been touting Florida as my pick for Coley for a while, yet now I'm not as set in that.
Clemson could be in the mix, along with Florida State and many others. Coley also could opt to go the prep school or JUCO route, as his academics may need some work, according to Chris Snee of Rivals.com.
3. Mackensie Alexander, CB
7 of 9At one point this past April, Clemson actually led for Alexander per Scout.com, but that has cooled off. However, the Tigers are still in the picture, but so are several other big-name schools.
A 5'11", 185-pounder from Florida, Alexander is an excellent cover corner who has loose hips, speed, athleticism to adjust and short area quickness to close quickly.
2. Montravius Adams, CB
8 of 9Adams is from Georgia and plays DT at 6'3" and 285 pounds. He shoots off the ball quickly and has quick hands and solid strength to make plays in both the pass and run.
He'll likely play in the SEC or at Clemson if you ask me. Teaming up with Nkemdiche and Elijah Daniel could form a real problematic DL unit for ACC schools.
1. Kendall Fuller, CB
9 of 9With Fuller, it's likely going to be either Clemson, Virginia Tech or Michigan. 247Sports.com lists it like this as well.
I think Fuller, a 6'0", 185-pounder with WR and CB skills, wants to play in a setting where he can focus on school and ball, which of course is offered at Clemson.
Landing a player like Fuller could really shoot Dabo Swinney's 2013 recruiting class up the recruiting rankings.
