Ronaldo has gotten used to losing out on this award as Lionel Messi has claimed it the last three years, but the two have suddenly switched places. And that all starts off with Ronaldo's Real Madrid finishing ahead of Messi's Barcelona.
Real Madrid took the top spot this year, largely on the strength of Ronaldo's 46 goals. This also made him the first player in La Liga history to score 40 or more goals in two consecutive seasons.
