NBA Free Agents 2012: Top Offensive Weapons Available This Summer

Austin GreenJun 7, 2018

If your team's offense was hideously stagnant last season, then you're in luck, because the 2012 NBA free-agent class is loaded with offensive weapons.

From franchise point guards, to automatic outside shooters, to beasts in the low post, there are plenty of available players who can put points on the board.

Although some of them are in the twilight of their careers, the following players will give a major offensive boost to whatever team they sign with.

Deron Williams - Point Guard, Brooklyn Nets

With his youth and skill set, Williams is the top prize this offseason.

Williams has everything you could ask for in a point guard: size (6'3"), vision (9.2 assists per game in his career), handles (R.I.P Toney Douglas) and the ability to score whenever he wants.

Throw in the fact that he will only be 28 years old next season, and Williams is unquestionably the best player available on the free-agent market

Steve Nash - Point Guard, Phoenix Suns

Even at the ripe old age of 38, Steve Nash can impact an offense like few players in the league.

He finished second in the NBA in assists this season (10.7 per game), while adding 12.5 points per and ridiculous shooting percentages of 53.2 (field goals), 39.0 (three-pointers) and 89.4 (free throws).

With his strict diet and training regimen, Nash should be able to put up similar numbers for at least two more years. Whichever team signs him will be very lucky.

Kevin Garnett - Power Forward, Boston Celtics

Another legend who's nearing the end, Garnett proved this postseason that he still has some gas left in the tank.

KG was a monster in the playoffs, averaging 19.2 points (on 49.7 percent shooting) and 10.3 rebounds per game. He scored 20-plus points in 10 playoff games, and when you consider his massive defensive impact, he should have plenty of suitors this offseason.

Assuming, of course, that he doesn't retire instead.

Eric Gordon - Shooting Guard, New Orleans Hornets

Gordon has struggled with injuries for much of his young career, but when he's on the court, he's one of the most dynamic shooting guards in the game.

He's an explosive athlete, a sniper from behind the three-point line and is money with the game on the line. He has averaged 18.2 points per game during his career (on 45.2 percent shooting), and if he can stay healthy, he will soon surpass Kobe and Dwyane Wade as the best player at his position.

Gordon is a restricted free agent, so the Hornets can match any offer for him. They would be smart to do so, as Gordon is a truly special talent.
