College Football Recruiting 2013: Coveted 5-Star DT Narrows List of Top Schools
Eddie Vanderdoes has one of the most impressive scholarship lists in the 2013 recruiting class. But with upwards of 30 offers in hand, the Scout.com 5-star defensive tackle's decision is also one of the toughest.
The Placer, California stud's list ranges from coast-to-coast, north-to-south, Alabama to Washington State—he literally holds offers from every major program in the country.
Yesterday he broke down that offer list and finally named a top 15. Vanderdoes, who is also being recruited to play baseball, is in no rush to finish his recruiting and is likely to take his decision down to the wire. That said, this is his top 15 via Twitter:
"TOP 15: Bama,Baylor,Cal,Florida,LSU,Miami,Michigan,Nebraska,Oregon,Penn St,UCLA,USC,Udub,Georgia Tech,Michigan St. WILL HAVE A TOP 10 SOON.
— eddie vanderdoes (@EddieVanderdoes) June 19, 2012"
There really are no surprises here, as almost every one of these schools is a national recruiting power.
At roughly 6'4", 300 pounds, there is a lot to love about the Placer star. His versatility obviously shines through with success on the diamond, but he's a big, powerful force who can make plays in both the run and pass games with regularity.
He's still coming into his body and has great potential at the next level, which is certainly part of the reason why every program is chasing him down.
Vanderdoes' skills will be on display at the exclusive Nike event later this summer known as "The Opening." He absolutely dominated the final stop on the NFTC Tour (see video above) and was the only one at the event to earn an invite to the final Nike showcase.
Every time we see the rising senior, he lives up to his billing and then some. Soon enough he'll have a top 10 for us, but don't expect any decisions from Vanderdoes until at least the fall.
