EPL Releases Its 2012-13 Fixture Schedule

Fixtures for the 2012-13 English Premier League have just been released. Mirror Football has made links to each and every club’s schedule available on its website.

The season definitely looks to be a great one, and a number of exciting matches are going to happen early and often.

Let’s take a look at some of the marquee matchups that will be happening shortly after the EPL season begins on August 18.

Manchester City vs. Manchester United, December 8

The first leg of the Manchester derby is going to be one of the most highly anticipated football games of the year.

City stole the EPL title from Man U in the last minutes of the last game of the 2011-12 campaign, and the Red Devils cannot be happy about it.

Expect this to be a fierce, competitive game between two sides that cannot stand one another.

Liverpool vs. Arsenal, September 1

Both of these sides have had their struggles in recent years. They are both dealing with major trophy droughts and would like that to end this year (unless you count Liverpool’s 2012 Football League Cup).

By getting an important win early in the season, both teams have a chance to build momentum going forward that may just translate into a championship down the road.

Manchester United vs. Everton, August 18

The 2011-12 runners-up have a tough opening match against the always-tricky Everton Blues.

It will be interesting to see how well Sir Alex Ferguson has his boys prepared at the start of this year after their collapse down the stretch to close the 2012 EPL season.

The side will need a strong start to erase any lingering doubts that they instilled after that epic failure to win the league.
