The New ESPNU 150: Power Ranking the Key New Additions
The second ESPNU 150 was released today, and we at Bleacher Report are all over it with the latest analysis.
We've already looked at the biggest risers, movers and shakers today. So for this go-round, we're going to look at the top new additions. As I've stated in the past, recruiting lists are extremely fluid, especially in the spring and summer as information is gathered and camps and combines bring new prospects into the fold.
Well, here are the top prospects that have benefited the most from the new ESPNU 150.
6. Rashard Fant, WR/CB/RS
1 of 6Hailing from the Peach State, Fant checks in at No. 148 in the new ESPNU 150.
What got him on the board is his speed, as Fant can flat-out fly. In fact, his best value to a team could very well indeed be as a return specialist.
At 5'10", 160 pounds, Fant can play CB or become a slot receiver, but look for him to really factor as a flip the field punt and kickoff returner. Watch out for South Carolina and Florida State, per 247Sports.com.
5. Deon Hollins, OLB/DE
2 of 6UCLA fans and coaches have to be happy with the addition of Hollins to the new ESPNU 150. He sits at No. 118 on the list and is a Texas native.
Hollins is a tweener that can play both DE and OLB at 6'1", 220 pounds. What got him on the list was his excellent and natural pass-rush ability.
At the worst, Hollins will be a situational pass-rusher, as he can fly off the ball and shows easy bending ability and a surge to finish on the passer.
4. Greg Taboada, TE/DE
3 of 6From Atlanta, Toboada has slept on all spring and is just now getting some long overdue love.
The new ESPNU 150 has him at No. 107.
The 6'5", 235-pounder is an athletic big man that can play DE or TE. He shows a ton of raw ability wherever he plays, with good length, strength, quickness, speed and athleticism.
Whether he grows into a rock-solid DE or a lethal TE, look for Toboada to sore with more college seasoning. Per 247Sports.com, Alabama, Oregon, Florida State, North Carolina and Arkansas are ones to watch.
3. Ebenezer Ogundeko, DE
4 of 6Following along the lines of another former New York DE prospect, Ishaaq Williams, Ogundeko excels at getting after the passer.
At 6'3" and nearly 240 pounds, he isn't as tall as Williams, but still has similar range, athleticism and long arms. Ogundeko is a bit raw, but he can stay clean in his rush and use a great burst while also being very powerful.
Like Williams, I think Ogundeko ends up at Notre Dame.
2. Cody Thomas, QB
5 of 6Thomas has come out to a couple passing camps and has thrown extremely well. The Texas native and big-time QB stands 6'5" and nearly in the 220-pound range.
Thomas has performed so well throughout this spring that he has gotten himself on the new ESPNU 150, all the way at No. 93.
Possessing excellent size, Thomas, a good baseball prospect as well, has a big-time arm, good athleticism for his size and a huge ceiling. He's committed to Oklahoma.
1. Robbie Rhodes, WR
6 of 6Rhodes is trending higher than a topic on Twitter right now. He came into the cycle almost unknown and has now gotten himself the No. 43 spot on the new ESPNU 150.
At 6'1", 190 pounds, Rhodes is a speedy WR from Texas that take the top off of a defense. He works all three facets of a passing game, has a sleek cut frame and moves around easy.
He has play making ability and solid release quickness. 247Sports.com has Baylor and Texas as his main favorites right now.
