NBA Playoff 2012 TV Schedule: Heat Will Ride Home-Court Advantage to NBA Finals

Justin WeltonJun 7, 2018

It doesn't matter who wins in Saturday night's Game 7 showdown between the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers because neither will be getting past Miami in the Eastern Conference finals because of home-court advantage.

Miami has only lost one game at home in the 2012 NBA playoffs, and they were tied for the best record at home with a 28-5 record during the regular season.

Boston or Philadelphia won't be able to defeat Miami on the road.

Philadelphia is a team that is lucky to be in this situation. I give them credit for making things happen, but if Derrick Rose doesn't go down in the first series, we may be talking about a sweep.

They have pushed the Celtics to seven games this series, but I've said from day one that Boston won't win a championship this season because of their age and lack of scoring production.

I'm sticking with that prediction.

Boston would have the best chance to defeat Miami from the two, but it won't happen, especially now that Avery Bradley is out for the remainder of the playoffs, according to Frank Dell’Apa of Boston.com.

He could have given Dwyane Wade issues with his tenacious on-ball defending.

Will Ray Allen be able to defend Wade?

I don't see it happening now that Wade is back on top of his game.

Advantage Heat.

If this series happened to go seven games, which could very well happen given Boston's ability to perform at home, Miami would close it out in seven. It's difficult to win on the road, but it's even more difficult in Game 7 of the NBA playoffs.

Prediction

Miami wins in seven games if they play Boston and five if they play Philadelphia.

The Miami Heat has the Eastern Conference finals in the palm of their hands; it's there for the taking. LeBron James and the Heat have to make things happen this go-around.
