NBA Playoffs 2012: Classless Memphis Fans Boo Injured Blake Griffin

Gabe ZaldivarJun 7, 2018

Congratulations are in order for the Memphis Grizzlies fans in attendance Wednesday night who decided to boo an obviously injured Blake Griffin during their team's Game 5 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.

You are officially a classless bunch and deserve a talking-to.

Stop me if you've heard about this, but the Clipper forward went down in a heap after drawing contact while driving to the basket. The NBA's most prolific flop artist was down again, and the act drew a chorus of boos.

The fans' reaction also drew very harsh criticism from Chris Webber, a former player who was calling the game as a TNT color analyst.

Before I get on my high horse and ride around for a few paragraphs, here is the video for you to judge for yourself. The boos really start at the 1:50 mark.

As you can see, Griffin goes down. Hardly a reason to stop the presses and change headlines. The man spends more time on his back than Vlade Divac ever did.

He is truly the new King of Flop and you can see more proof right here.

If that's not enough, consider his acting job after DeMarcus Cousins swung and missed hitting him in the face.

So you can see, there is reason to boo your ass off when Griffin hits the floor.

Just not this time.

From the start, you can clearly see this is no ordinary Griffin tumble to the floor. After hitting the deck, Griffin began clutching his knee in obvious pain.

Of course, thoughts of Paul Pierce being carried off the court in the NBA Finals, only to return on a fresh pair of legs, begin to swirl.

That didn't happen though.

Griffin, the boy who too often who cries wolf, is obviously hurt this time, but most fans by now are too cynical to believe him.

Having said that, this still is one of the most classless moments we have seen in a while.

Come on, Memphis. What are you, Philadelphia?

The guy's is obviously in pain, leaves the court under his own power but with a heavy limp and is now listed as having a sprained knee

There is a ton of stuff that you can boo the Clippers and Blake Griffin about, just not this. I shall now boo in your general direction, Memphis.

Boo me on Twitter.
