NFL Power Rankings: Teams with Most to Prove After 2012 NFL Draft

Wes ODonnellJun 7, 2018

The NFL season won't kick off for another five months, but with the 2012 draft in the books, we have a pretty clear indication of what rosters are expected to look like come opening weekend.

A few teams surprised the hell out of us with their draft selections while others did exactly as we expected them to do.

Mini-camps will be upon us soon, and there is plenty to be excited about moving forward. Here is a look at the teams who have something to prove in 2012.

The team with the NFL's best record last season was sent home early for a variety of reasons. Now they'll enter 2012 with a heap of question marks hanging overhead.

If a team with a 15-1 record can lose at home in the divisional round of the playoffs, what can they do to prove they're real this season?

Age will catch up with Green Bay in the secondary, and they hope their first-round draft pick, Nick Perry, will immediately give them a boost rushing the passer.

This team will have lofty expectations again in 2012, but they have a lot still to prove.

New Orleans is going to be a mess of inconsistency with their interim coach suspended to start the season and their quarterback still unsigned.

They could still see a number of defensive players face suspensions, too.

Plain and simple, there is no telling how this team will respond to its offseason nightmare.

Enough is enough with this team already. Although not nearly as talented as some like to say, San Diego should win the AFC West nearly every year with Philip Rivers under center.

While they didn't fire Norv Turner, he's got one more shot to get things right or somebody else will be in his position come the following fall.

They have a number of big names, but they find a way to lose football games like no other team in the league.

The pressure to validate trading three first-round picks for Robert Griffin III will be felt immediately.

This team also beat the reigning Super Bowl champion New York Giants twice last season and aren't considered a team in complete rebuilding mode.

Another top-10 pick (which they won't be able to use) is something they must avoid.
