Fernando Torres: Chelsea Star's Hat Trick Proves He's Returning to Top Form

Chelsea star striker Fernando Torres scored a hat trick in his squad's dominating 6-1 victory over London club QPR on Sunday, proving the Spanish star is finally starting to regain his top form:

Torres also became the 19th player in Premier League history to score four hat tricks in a career.

Torres' tenure at Stamford Bridge has been often criticized since he came to London after a £50 million transfer from Liverpool, but the Spanish star is finally showing Blues fans what they have expected to see all along.

After scoring against Barcelona in Chelsea's historic comeback at Camp Nou during the second leg of the Champions League semifinal last Tuesday, Torres might have received the emotional boost needed to become a star again.

Torres' strong performances couldn't have come at a better time for Chelsea. They trailed fourth-place Tottenham by four points coming into Sunday's match against QPR, and their only hope for Champions League football next season might be to win the competition this year.

They also have an FA Cup final match on May 5 against Liverpool at Wembley. Torres would love to end his former club's bid for a second trophy this season with another great performance.

Not only did Torres score a hat trick Sunday, the first and third goal were pure class, which is great for Torres' confidence.

If he can continue his fine goal-scoring form into the month of May, Chelsea could lift the Champions League trophy and the FA Cup by season's end.
