NBA Lottery 2012: Tiebreak Results and Latest Odds of Winning No. 1
The NBA lottery is a little over a month away, but the dreaming starts early for the teams fortunate enough to have a say in the spoils.
In case you missed it, a huge issue dealing with the lottery was settled on Friday, giving us some closure to tiebreakers that loomed at the close of the regular season.
Details
The tied teams will essentially share an average in their lottery chances. Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors breaks it down as such.
"...since the Cavaliers and Hornets tied for the league's third-worst record (21-45), each team's chances of landing the first overall pick will be an average of the third- and fourth-best odds (15.6% and 11.9%).
"
What we have are a few teams separated by the slimmest of margins. Instead of winning a coin flip and getting the full complement of a higher "seed," both teams that tied in the regular season get an almost identical shot.
We now wait until May 30th to find out how these lottery teams will shake out, completing our draft order.
