The men and women of U.S. Soccer will have fresh, new threads to wear in the form of home kits that will split the nation down the middle.

If you are a fan of candy canes, stripes or simply the color red, you will go mad over the new home kits that our national teams will be rocking shortly.

Of course, if you happen to have ill feeling about any of that, you may want to watch the box score instead of the actual upcoming matches.

You can get more information on the jerseys at the official site of U.S. Soccer. The men and women are now united by the same swagger, but are they winning kits? Let's discuss.

Wow Factor: 9 out of 10

Yes, these passed the initial test of dropping your jaw, making you ask what they hell these things are all about. Football fans know that kits change constantly, many times with the subtlest of adjustments.

That's not the case here, as Nike is gambling big time on the horizontal stripes being game-winners, and I am inclined to agree.

The more I get to look at these uniforms, the more I fall in love with them. The initial shock of red-and-white jerseys looking like a sea of candy canes has worn off.

What is left is a classy kit that even includes a hushed sash across the chest that is still a nice touch on any jersey.

Overall Swag Grade: 9 out of 10

I love everything about these things.

From the unity of the men's and women's teams to the inclusion of a muted sash under the brash red stripes, this speak volumes to the nation's sensibilities.

Now if we could just shore up the back line.
