Jessica Dorrell Placed on Paid Leave as Bobby Petrino Fallout Continues

An affair that is said to have lasted a significant amount of time is taking just as long to be sorted out as Jessica Dorrell has been put on paid leave from her post at Arkansas. 

The Associated Press reports on the latest news stemming from an Arkansas scandal that has cost one head coach his job and two people their dignity.

Arkansas says Jessica Dorrell, the 25-year-old football department employee whose affair with former football coach Bobby Petrino led to his firing, has been placed on paid leave by the university.

"

The University was not forthcoming on anymore details and stated that this was a personnel matter and would not be discussed. 

Dorrell is being paid $55,735 per year but is alleged to have received $20,000 before her hiring as a gift from former head coach Bobby Petrino, the AP reports. 

This is merely the latest twist in a story that continues to bizarrely unfold.

40/29 Sports reports that the hiring records for Dorrell have been discovered, and they extensively cover the hiring process. 

Among the reasons Dorell made the cut over 160 applicants was a recommendation from Petrino with the note in regards to her vast experience. 

There have even been reports that Dorrell was not the only female correspondent who might have had a relationship with the married Petrino. 

Deadspin reported recently that Petrino exchanged copious amounts of text messages with a former model over a two month period. In that time, he also received seven picture messages from the same woman, Alison Melder. 

It's hard to imagine that this story can get much worse, but it seems that this is exactly where it is headed.
