Real Madrid vs. Valencia: Cristiano Ronaldo Will Carry Club to Victory

Luis BatlleApr 8, 2012

Cristiano Ronaldo is clicking on all cylinders, as his play will have Real Madrid continuing to push for the La Liga title.

In what should be a promising display of soccer at Santiago Barnabeu in Madrid, there is no question that Ronaldo and his club will dominate Valencia in this critical matchup in La Liga.

Ronaldo, with 37 goals on the season, has proven to be a force for Madrid offensively in arguably his best showing with the team this year. The 37 goals is good for No. 2 in the league, trailing world-class talent Lionel Messi who boasts 38 this season.

Aside from holding the top spot in La Liga, currently with a 78-75 lead over Barcelona having played one fewer match, what will give this team the victory will have everything to do with their play as of late.

Cristiano Ronaldo and company are 13-0-2 in its last 15 La Liga matches, winning the last two games in league play 5-1 against Real Sociedad and Osasuna. Ronaldo would lead the team in the two blowout victories, scoring two goals in each of the two victories.

Talk about impressive stuff from this Madrid team.

In spite of sitting in the No. 3 spot behind Real Madrid and Barcelona, Valencia will have a world of trouble keeping up with the offensive firepower Ronaldo and company boast. Not to mentio, this is a team that has looke especially beatable as of late.

In its last three matches, Valencia is 0-2-1 with just one point, losing matches to both Levante and Real Zaragoza. Not to mention, in its last outing against Real Madrid at home, it lost 3-2.

With Gonzalo Higuain and Ronaldo putting pressure on this struggling Valencia back-line, there is no question that Real Madrid will come up with a convincing victory at home. Real Madrid are undoubtedly the favorites to pick up three points in this important match for the team.
