The Wildest Buzzer Beater Shots of the NBA Season

Peter EmerickJun 5, 2018

Buzzer beaters are by far one of the most exciting parts of basketball, and this season we've seen more than our fair share of them.

From Kevin Love hitting a 30-foot jumper to sink the Clippers to Darius Morris hitting a double-clutch half-court heave, the 2011-12 NBA season has been full of buzzer beaters that have wowed and amazed fans across the league.

The most amazing part of these wild buzzer beaters is just how easy these NBA players make them look, as they hit these shots with the amount of effort it takes me to hit a lay-up.

Ahead are the 25 wildest buzzer beaters of the 2011-12 NBA season.

Dwyane Wade's 60-Foot Heave Against the Thunder

1 of 25

Starting off this list, we have a 60-foot heave from Dwayne Wade that's probably a lot easier for him to make than most of us reading this.

Without thinking twice, Wade heaves up a prayer and the basketball god's answered it.  I wish I could make a 10-foot jump-shot, nevertheless a 60-foot buzzer beater.

Kudos to you Wade, but the Heat needed you to make about 10 more of those to beat the Thunder.

Kevin Love's 30-Foot Game Winner to Finish off Lob City

2 of 25

Kevin Love isn't just one of the most versatile big-men in the NBA, he's also a cold-blooded killer and he proved that against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Coming off the double-screen, Love backs up and hit's a 30-footer with ease.

Even better than the shot itself, is how he walks off the court with the, "Come on, I knew I was going to make that" look on his face.

Darren Collison's Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Impersonation

3 of 25

Who knew Darren Collison had so much Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in him?

Derek Fisher's Last Game-Winner as a Member of the Los Angeles Lakers

4 of 25

This one technically isn't a buzzer beater, but it's still ridiculously nasty.

The arc on Fisher's shot makes it seem like the ball is suspended in the air for an hour and a half, then it gracefully just falls through the net with ease.  That's the perfect jump-shot, and it's a thing of beauty.

It also happens to be Fisher's final game-winner as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Aint No Thang for Kobe Bryant Against the Lowly Detroit Pistons

5 of 25

Kobe Bryant hit's another game-winner that he can add to his massive list of game winners just like it's another shot for him.

The thing about Kobe game-winners is the fact that he has such poise when he walks off the court.  While some players act like they just won the lottery when they hit a game-winner, Kobe just walks to the bench like, "I knew I was going to hit it."

Kobe is almost 34-years old, but that doesn't stop him from hitting nasty buzzer-beaters like it's his job.  Well, it kind of is his job. But you get the point.

Andre Miller's Casual Half Court Heave

6 of 25

At first glance, Miller's half-court heave almost looks fake.  Just ask the Raptors though, they know it was a real shot.

It's absolutely amazing that Miller launched up that half-court shot like he was in a pregame shoot-around.

While his shot didn't have the highest degree of difficulty, there's no debating the fact that it's still one of the sickest buzzer beaters of the year.  I guess that's why Miller still has a spot on the Nuggets' roster.

Marcus Camby with His Best Peyton Manning Impersonation

7 of 25

Maybe Marcus Camby should shoot like this more often.  It might help the Rockets win more games.

Christmas Day Magic Featuring a Derrick Rose Floater

8 of 25

Here's another "non-buzzer beater" that still earns a spot on this list because it was just so absolutely epic.

Hitting a running floater with the game on the line is hard enough.  Now imagine trying to do it over a seven-footer named Pau Gasol.

That's exactly what Rose did, as he gave the Lakers a nice Christmas gift in the form of a season-opening loss.

Luke Ridnour Does His Best Derrick Rose Impression with Buzzer-Beating Floater

9 of 25

The only way Ridnour could have made this shot better was if he had walked off the court with a stone-cold stare, like Kobe or Durant.

Russell Westbrook Proves Why He's Worth so Much Money

10 of 25

The best part of this shot is the insane body control that Russell Westbrook had when he hit this buzzer beater.

Marvin Williams Spinning Half-Court Shot Against the Nets

11 of 25

So this is why the Atlanta Hawks keep Marvin Williams on their roster!

Eric Gordon's Ice Cold Jumper to Seal the Deal Against the Suns

12 of 25

Gordon's sick cross-over/hesitation to create some space is reminiscent of a little-known baller, named Allen Iverson, and that's part of why this shot is so great.

Chris Bosh Fade-Away 3-Ball to Sink the Hawks in 3OT

13 of 25

Chris Bosh buzzer beater are few and far between, and while this isn't a buzzer beater, it's still ridiculously impressive, and it helped the Heat win a game without LeBron and Wade.

If the fact that Bosh can hit fade-away three-pointers with ease isn't impressive enough, he also can do it when the game is on the line.

Maybe the clutch-shooters list in Miami should go, 1. Dwyane Wade, 2. Chris Bosh, 3. Some random bench player and 4.  LeBron James

Durantula Strikes Again: Durant Buries the Mavericks

14 of 25

I just can't get enough Durantula buzzer-beaters.

The quickness that exists in Durant's shot is certainly impressive, but it takes a whole other form when the game is on the line and the seconds are winding down.

Like another, lesser-known player named Kobe Bryant, after hitting a buzzer beater, Durant just walks off the court like, "I hit these shots in my sleep guys, calm down."

No Rose, No Problem for the Bulls and Luol Deng

15 of 25

The court awareness and intelligence of Deng on this play is absolutely through the roof, and it's what makes this shot so remarkable.

DWade Proves He's Still the Real Closer in Miami

16 of 25

Dwyane Wade is so good that he can hit buzzer beaters even when another player is body checking him.

While there was no foul called on this play, which was absolutely shocking, Wade's ability to focus through the contact and hit the game-winning shot is absolutely insane.

With this shot, Wade proved, again, that he's still the Heat's primary closer in late-game situations. Sorry LeBron, you're late-game choking will have to be put on hold for a bit.

Danny Green Outplays LeBron James, at Least This One Time

17 of 25

Danny Green sighting!

Not only did Green hit a half-court heave at the end of the second quarter against the Heat,  he hit it right after LeBron sank a three-pointer that looked like it would be the last shot of the half.

Monta Ellis Spins and Hit's the Bank Shot Like It Ain't No Thang

18 of 25

The most ridiculous part of this shot, aside from the fact that the Golden State Warriors traded Monta Ellis, is the amount of body control that Ellis put on display.

Hitting a running one-handed bank-shot is hard enough, but Ellis wanted to add a whole other level of difficulty by incorporating a smooth spin-move into the play.

Ellis is one of the most athletic and explosive shooting guards in the game, and he made that absolutely clear with this mesmerizing buzzer beater.

Linsanity Lives as Jeremy Lin Sinks 3-Pointer to Finish Raptors

19 of 25

This list couldn't be put together without a Jeremy Lin video.  You had to see that coming, right?

While this wasn't a buzzer beater, it was an absolutely cold-blooded shot that sent the Linsanity mania into full effect.

Jeremy Lin hit the shot and then turned around with a look on his face like, "If you would have watched me at Harvard, you would have known I could do that".

Chris Paul's Nasty Layup to Beat the Halftime Buzzer

20 of 25

Everyone knows that Chris Paul has ice running through his veins, but we didn't know that it included him hitting crazy, falling to the ground layups to beat the buzzer at halftime.

The two best parts of this shot are, first, the way that he crosses up Raymond Felton at the free-throw line and secondly, the amount of spin that he puts on the ball to get to go in.

Add "ability to hit crazy layups with time expiring" to Paul's resume, because it's something that he seems to with an impressive level of ease.

Rodney Stuckey Sinks the Wizards in This Battle of Terrible NBA Teams

21 of 25

While Rodney Stuckey's game winner wasn't techinically a buzzer beater, as there were still .2 seconds left on the clock, it's the Piston's only highlight of the season, and it needs to be on this list.

In a shocking turn of events, two of the worst teams in the NBA, the Wizards and Pistons, actually put on quite a show for fans in the Nation's capital, and it was capped off with a Stuckey game winner.

The best part of Stuckey's cold-blooded shot was the little high-step he had right around half-court.  Watch it and try not to smile, I dare you.

Jordan Farmar Proves He Has Ice in His Veins Against the Clippers

22 of 25

Until Jordan Farmar hit this buzzer beater against the Clippers, I didn't know that he was even still playing in the NBA.

The Clippers sure knew that he was playing for the New Jersey Nets, as Farmar ended their night with a 30-foot buzzer beater that gave the Nets at least one bright spot in their rough 2011-12 season.

It's good to know that the four-million dollars the Nets spent on Farmar this season didn't completely go to waste.  That's one expensive buzzer beater though, I'll tell you that much.

Derrick Rose Hits the Game Winner of the Year with Ease

23 of 25

This buzzer beater is quite possibly the best of the year, because it's just so absolutely nasty.

Not only is the defense right in Rose's face the entire time leading up to the shot, but the shot itself was also highly contested.

The athleticism and explosive agility that Rose has makes him one of the most lethal threats in late-game situations, and the Bucks saw that firsthand when he took the wind right out of their sail with this sick, step-back game-winner.

Rudy Fernandez Pulls off One of the Most Insane Buzzer Beaters in NBA History

24 of 25

There's not much I can say about this buzzer beater, aside from the fact that it's absolutely absurd.

The most amazing part of the shot isn't that Fernandez tipped the ball in, but the fact that his hand didn't shatter once it made contact with the half-court heave.

It's also incredible that Fernandez knew what angle and with what amount of spin he needed to tap the ball, but hey, I guess that's why he gets payed the big bucks and I don't.

Darius Morris with a Double-Pump Halftime Heave

25 of 25

Here's quite possibly the best buzzer beater of the year, as Darius Morris of the Los Angeles Lakers, hit's a double-pump half-court shot to end the first quarter.

Hitting a half-court shot is hard enough, nevertheless hitting one after you've pump-faked two times in the air.

The Lakers certainly need more production off their bench, so maybe they should draw up some half-court double-pump heaves for Morris, because he can certainly make them.
