Summer Transfer Rumors: 10 Top Wingers on the Market and Where They'll Go
With two months left in most of the domestic leagues in Europe, clubs are starting to line up the new players they want to bring in.
Here are 10 wingers on the market. A big payday is ahead for the young players on this list, and for the older players, a new challenge at a different club with more playing time may be in their future.
Most of these 10 players have not seen a tremendous amount of interest, as it is still only March, but get used to these names because you will hear about them all summer.
Eden Hazard
1 of 10One thing is for sure, Eden Hazard will be the number one player on everyone's wish list.
At this point, rumors indicate that Hazard will move from Ligue 1 in France to the Premier League. Manchester City is the latest club rumored to be interested in the Lille midfielder.
There is no doubt that the Belgian will leave the French champions in the summer because Lille will make a solid chunk of money off the winger.
Where He Will Go: Manchester City
City have the most money. Unless Real Madrid get involved in the hunt for Hazard, no one else will have to cash to match City.
Arjen Robben
2 of 10It is hard to believe that Arjen Robben is only 28 years old. The Dutch winger has been a standout on the European scene since his move to Chelsea from Dutch club PSV in 2004.
Although his name was not associated with a move out of Bayern Munich in January, now a move out of Germany is more of a possibility.
Where He Will Go: Stay at Bayern Munich
Out of the three London clubs mentioned in the link above, Robben does not fit at any of those clubs—Chelsea are going young, Arsenal are already set on the wing with Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Spurs seem like an outside contender for the Dutchman.
Dirk Kuyt
3 of 10Another Dutchman who may be on the move in the summer is Dirk Kuyt.
Kuyt has recently been quoted by the press as saying that he will move from Liverpool to another club if he does not get enough playing time.
Where He Will Go: Italy
Although it has been a year or two since Kuyt has been linked with Inter Milan and Juventus, a move to Italy may serve the 31-year-old well. His workhorse mentality will impress his potential suitors in Serie A.
Scott Sinclair
4 of 10After being sent out on numerous loan spells by Chelsea for five years, Sinclair moved to Swansea in 2010 and has been one of the club's top players in their first season in the Premier League.
With the success that he has attained for a newly promoted club, the bigger clubs have now shifted their focus on to the former England under-21 international.
Where He Will Go: Liverpool
Liverpool were looking at the 22-year-old during the January window. If players like Kuyt and Joe Cole leave Anfield, Sinclair could be seen as a youthful replacement for some of the older wingers on the Reds roster.
Stephane Sessegnon
5 of 10Another winger who has been on fire in the middle of the Premier League table this season is Stephane Sessegnon.
Every since his move from PSG, the Beninese international has been an impact player for Sunderland.
There are reports, however, that he is getting somewhat homesick and could leave the club.
Where He Will Go: Back to France
PSG may not take the 27-year-old back but there are plenty of other clubs in Ligue 1 that would be willing to pick up Sessegnon and ease the pressure of separation between himself and his family.
One club that might take action is Lille, who could offer Sunderland a decent amount of money after Hazard leaves the club.
Iker Muniain
6 of 10Iker Muniain is a part of one of Europe's most impressive clubs this season, Athletic Bilbao.
Led by a core of Muniain, Javi Martinez and Fernando Llorente, Bilbao has reached the quarterfinals of the Europa League and is currently in fifth place in La Liga.
Where He Will Go: Manchester United
If you can not beat them, sign them for a ridiculous transfer fee.
If he makes the roster and performs well at Euro 2012, Muniain will have a bigger stage than the Europa League to impress bigger clubs with his skills.
With United's chase of Hazard being thumped by Manchester City, Muniain could be a cheaper and equally-talented alternative to Hazard.
Willian
7 of 10Willian is a player that has been on the verge of leaving Shakhtar Donetsk for a while. This summer might finally be that time.
The 23-year-old Brazilian has been an impressive force on the wing for Shakhtar in domestic and European play.
Where He Will Go: Chelsea
Chelsea is looking to add Willian to their young crop of Brazilian talent that already includes Ramires and David Luiz.
Mario Gotze
8 of 10One of the hottest young talents in Europe is Borussia Dortmund's Mario Gotze.
Gotze has been a part of the young core at Dortmund since 2009 and is only 19 years of age.
Where He Will Go: Arsenal
The Gunners have been after the German international for a while now.
To go along with Arsene Wenger's transfer policy of bringing in young players ahead of experienced players, Gotze would be a perfect fit for Arsenal.
Raheem Sterling
9 of 10Raheem Sterling could be a future famous face of the English Premier League, but his time at Liverpool may not end up being as long as his seven-year stint in the youth ranks at QPR.
The 17-year-old winger seems frustrated with how he is being treated at the club.
Where He Will Go: Tottenham
Spurs are rumored to be after the England U-17 international.
Sterling would be a great capture for the North London club, who also signed another young player a few years back; Gareth Bale turned out to be pretty good.
Mauricio Isla
10 of 10Mauricio Isla is one of the more versatile players on this list. He can play fullback, winger and in the center of midfield.
The Chilean international is now getting attention from the Premier League.
Where He Will Go: Liverpool
Out of the two clubs rumored to sign the Udinese player, Liverpool is a better fit.
Arsenal traditionally does not go into Serie A for their transfers and the Gunners already have young wingers coming through their system.
As for Liverpool, they have the likes of Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson on the wing already but Isla would be good upgrade over those two Englishmen.
