We have all seen the highlights throughout the years. Plays that simply take us off guard and have our jaws slam to the ground.
From one-handed catches, to diving tackles, to trick plays and much more, college football has provided us with some outstanding moments that we just did not see coming.

Tyrone Prothro's Insane Catch
1 of 25During the 2005 season, Tyrone Prothro caught everyone's eye by catching this pass.
With the Tide going up against Southern Miss, Prothro heads deep and somehow finds a way to catch a pass with his arms around the defender. It is truly something you have to see to believe.
Early Gatorade Bath
2 of 25In 2002, the Kentucky Wildcats and their fans thought they had done it—they believed that they had just knocked off LSU at home and had gone so far as to already deliver the celebratory Gatorade bath.
Instead, LSU quarterback Marcus Randall dropped back and found Devery Henderson for a 74 yard game winning touchdown.
Michigan State's Fake Field Goal
3 of 25In 2010, Michigan State and Notre Dame did battle deep into the night and eventually headed to overtime. Needing a field goal to tie the game, the Spartans lined up for the field goal but what ensued stunned everyone.
Michigan's Defense Is Still Looking for Dixon
4 of 25In 2007, Dennis Dixon would have one of the best seasons that Oregon has seen from their quarterback. Early on in the year, the Ducks headed out East to take on Michigan at the Big House.
The week prior to this game, the Wolverines had suffered an embarrassing loss to Appalachian State and when playing the Ducks, Dixon also had his way with them.

Appalachian State Stuns Michigan

In the 2007 season opener, Michigan scheduled Appalachian State figuring they would get off to a great start. Instead, the Wolverines got a dog fight and after dropping behind late, they still had a chance to win on this field goal attempt.

Stanford Shocker
9 of 25With Jim Harbaugh at the helm, the Stanford Cardinal walked into the Coliseum to take on USC. After keeping it close all night, the Cardinal were forced into a fourth down play with less than a minute remaining and trailing by six. What ended up happening was unforgettable.
The Longest 11 Yard Run Ever

Hail Hawkeye
13 of 25The 2005 Capital One Bowl was the sight of perhaps the greatest play in Iowa history. With time running out, Drew Tate appeared to be mismanaging the clock and putting the Hawkeyes into a one play scenario. While that was the case, he certainly made the most of his one play with this throw.
Vince at His Best
14 of 25Trailing at the start of the third quarter to Oklahoma State, Vince Young had one of his best plays of his career. With the ball at his own 20, Young escaped the pocket and then put on a serious pump fake that sent Donovan Woods sky high.
Crabtree's Dream
15 of 25During the 2008 season, it appeared that Texas was on their way to the national title game. Before they could get there, the Longhorns had to play a game against Texas Tech on the road.
Late in the game, the Red Raiders had themselves in field goal range but instead of trying the long kick, they took a shot down field that led to this Michael Crabtree catch.
The Play

Stewart Going Deep
17 of 25In 1995, it seemed as if the Michigan Wolverines had just earned themselves a win over Colorado. The Wolverines had them backed up to their own 35 and it appeared that there was no way that they could lose this game.
With time running out, Kordell Stewart dropped back and let this improbable throw go deep down field for a game winning touchdown.
Bush Push
18 of 25During the 2005 season, USC was steamrolling their way to the national championship.
Late in the year, the Trojans faced a road game against the Fighting Irish and it was scheduled to be played at night.
The two teams went back and forth until finally the Trojans opted to go for the win with time running out. Watch as Reggie Bush makes one of his biggest plays without having the ball.
Kick Save
19 of 25A play that is not only jaw-dropping but still controversial is the kick save between Nebraska and Missouri.
The Huskers were in need of a touchdown to send the game into overtime and after a pass seemed all but dead, it was kicked up into the air and caught by a diving Matt Davison.
While illegal, the play stood and the Huskers would win in overtime.
Tommie Frazier Goes the Distance
20 of 25During the 1996 National Championship, Tommie Frazier pulled off one of the greatest runs of all time.
After the Florida defense seemed to have bottled Frazier up after a decent gain, the mobile quarterback found a way to squirt loose and go 75 yards for a touchdown.
Miles Shows off His Trickeration
21 of 25Up by a touchdown and almost halftime, LSU lined up for a field goal that could extend the lead to double digits. Instead, Les Miles dug deep into his bag of tricks and called this fake field goal that would go on to be copied by many teams over the next several years.
Hail Flutie
22 of 25In 1984, Boston College was going toe-to-toe with the Miami Hurricanes.
Despite playing an outstanding game, Boston College still found themselves trailing with time winding down.
Knowing it was their last play, Doug Flutie dropped back and let a 64 yard pass go that found the waiting arms of Gerard Phelan for a touchdown and a memory that college football fans will never forget.
Get out of Walker's Way
23 of 25Back in 1980, Herschel Walker was running wild in the Georgia backfield.
During a game against Tennessee, Walker had a statement moment when he ran straight over All-SEC safety Bill Bates and got in for the score. It is a play that Bates can probably still feel today.
Ed Reed Lends a Hand
24 of 25During a 2001 game against Boston College, Miami's Matt Walker had a special moment when he intercepted a pass that would likely lock up the game. What Walker didn't know was that safety Ed Reed would fly up alongside of him, strip the ball and take it the distance for a Miami touchdown.
Fumblerooski
25 of 25In 1984, Nebraska and Miami hooked up in the Orange Bowl. On a third down play deep in Miami territory, Tom Osborne caught everyone sleeping when he dialed up the Fumblerooski which ended in a Husker touchdown.
