Best Stuff of the Week

Ryan KlockeJun 7, 2018

How's that bracket of yours looking? Marked up with the "bad" color highlighter? Crumpled up, laying in the bottom of a trash can because you picked Mizzou? Or are you good—Final Four intact, on the Kentucky or MSU bandwagons—and happy that your 8.5 by 11-inch sheet of paper survived a weekend with some massive upsets?

Either way, you had to enjoy what the sports world threw us over the weekend. Sorry if you no longer have a shot at winning your NCAA tournament pool, but to be treated to a pair of 15-over-2s on the same day supersedes that. History always trumps making a few bucks.

Speaking of history, it's a pretty good day to be an Ohio resident (more on that later). And if that's just too much tourney for you, this weekend also saw D-Wade go huge and Brad Keselowski punk the field at Bristol.

So take a break from checking your Twitter feed to see where Peyton signs, and relive the weekend's best sports moments.

Mizzou Meets Its Match

1 of 5

And...games like this are why it's all but impossible to fill out a perfect tournament bracket. Who had this one? Really. Who in their right mind filled in No. 15 Norfolk State over No. 2 Missouri? Most likely, you had Mizzou in your Elite Eight or further.

Instead, they were sent packing in resounding fashion. As it happened—and as the Virginia school celebrated oh-so-properly—brackets all over this country were getting ripped off walls and thrown into receptacles.

Sunday may not have gone Norfolk's way against Florida (that's putting it very, very lightly), but they'll always have that bit of history. And so will this school...

Down Goes Duke

2 of 5

Wow. It's been a couple days, but still...wow. Duke, gone? In their first game? Losing to a No. 15 seed?

It seems all-but-impossible when you ask yourself those questions, yet it happened. Lehigh legitimately sent those Blue Devils packing, as upset fans and Duke haters everywhere cheered in their living rooms or sports bars or cubicles (had to have been hard to hide that one from the boss).

Lehigh may be gone, but it will be hard to forget watching such an unknown school take down one of the programs in college basketball.

Brad Keselowski Wins, Tweets

3 of 5

Not only can Brad Keselowski drive the wheels of his Dodge at Bristol, he's a social media maven as well. After making waves by tweeting from his car during the Daytona 500, he won his second straight race at Bristol and immediately began updating his feed. Per the AP:

"

“What can I say? I love Bristol and Bristol loves me,” said Keselowski, who immediately began taking pictures in Victory Lane to send to Twitter.

"

And it's working. He's now at 250,000 followers, which is saying something considering he isn't exactly a household name. But if he combines the Tweeting with performances like Sunday's—led a race-high 253 laps and nailed a crucial restart late—that could change.

Wade Goes Huge in Fourth

4 of 5

This is why it has to stink playing against the Heat. Too. Much. Talent.

On this night, it was Wade, dropping 14 points in the fourth quarter to lead Miami over Orlando, 91-81, in a Sunday showdown on national TV. As the college boys were taking a lion's share of the attention—and hoisting up bad shots and making dumb final-minute decisions—Wade was reminding us how stars at basketball's top level get down.

Four Reasons for Ohio to Celebrate

5 of 5

Good time to be a basketball fan in the Buckeye State (well, Cavaliers notwithstanding).

For the first time in tournament history, four teams from the same state are in the Sweet 16.

And the biggest surprise of all has to be Ohio University, that pesky No. 13 seed that upset Michigan, then downed South Florida to get here.

Plus, you've got Xavier and Cincy and Ohio State. It's unprecedented territory, and it's awesome. And how about that Bearcats vs. Buckeyes matchup? Must-watch, for sure.
