Nebraska Cornhuskers Links for 1/10/09
Bo Pelini flew to Portland, Oregon yesterday on the most important recruiting trip he’ll make in 2009. He went to Portland to talk to Ndamukong Suh about his NFL prospects.
Now we don’t know if Bo is encouraging Suh to go pro or not, but chances are he is telling Suh about the potential of the 2009 Nebraska Cornhuskers if Suh comes back and how he will work with him to make him an All-American and top-five NFL pick in 2010.

"Cosgrove rejoins a conference in which he succeeded. He coordinated the Wisconsin defense for nine seasons (1995-2003) and helped win back-to-back Rose Bowls. The Sporting News named him the top coordinator in the Big Ten in 2002.
The 53-year-old didn’t return a call from the World-Herald. He said in a statement released by Minnesota:
"I’m thrilled to be back in the Big Ten. I’m definitely excited about the opportunity to work with (head coach) Tim Brewster and an outstanding (athletic director) in Joel Maturi . . . . I’m very familiar with Minnesota. I always felt that this program had great potential . . . "

- Pro Day will be a key in getting the Nebraska Cornhuskers some exposure:
"Most can’t afford to take a step back. Depending on what junior nose tackle Ndamukong Suh decides to do, Nebraska might be looking at being shut out through three rounds for only the third time since 1971 (2004, 2008).
Marlon Lucky is considered the Huskers’ best prospect among the seniors, ranked as the No. 14 running back by both scout.com and NFL Draft Countdown. NFLDraftDog.com lists Lucky as the No. 17 back, Slauson as the No. 16 guard, Lydon Murtha as the No. 28 offensive tackle and Potter as the No. 33 defensive end.
But Potter received his invitation Monday to the NFL Combine, Feb. 20 to 26 in Indianapolis. The 6'7", 280-pounder from Omaha Creighton Prep first will play in the Texas vs. The Nation All-Star Challenge on Jan. 31 in El Paso, Texas.
