    Does your favourite team wear the colour red? It may explain why they are usually among the best of the best.

    If your into psychology and all of that jazz, you may know a thing or two about what kind of effect colours may have in different situations.

    According to a study done by British anthropologists and presented in National Geographic magazine, wearing red may give a team or individual the advantage in sports.

    Of course, this is only one study but The Guardian did present some more information here and here about the effects of wearing red in sports and especially world football.

    To be on this list, teams have to wear a home kit that has a significant amount of red in the design. A great amount of significance is also placed on the history of these teams.

    Keeping all that in mind, let's take a look at some of the best world football teams who play in red.

    Liverpool recently added to its impressive trophy haul with a Carling Cup victory over Cardiff earlier this week.

    The team's all-red kit has certainly helped them over the years. A number of fantastic players have worn the famous shirt including current manager Kenny Dalglish.

    Some of the team's accomplishments include 18 League titles, seven FA Cup trophies and 11 European trophies.

Manchester United
