NFL Combine 2012: Teams Who Have Major Decisions to Make in Indianapolis
Let the poking and the prodding begin in Indianapolis.
No, I am not talking about the rift between Peyton Manning and Colts owner Jim Irsay.
I am talking about the 2012 NFL combine.
From February 22 to February 28, over 300 former college football stars will be making their way to "Nap Town" to show off their abilities in front of executives and coaching staffs from all 32 teams, each hoping to make their professional football dreams a reality.
So, which teams have major decisions to make at the combine?
Kansas City Chiefs
1 of 3Should the Chiefs take Alabama running back Trent Richardson with the 11th pick?
There is no question that current Kansas City running back Jamaal Charles has the talent to be considered one of the best backs in the NFL, but the problem is whether or not he can stay healthy for a full season.
Richardson, on the other hand, is built like a battering ram, and he already has the body that could withstand the punishment that comes with being an every-down back in the NFL.
If Richardson is still available when Kansas City makes their selection, it would be hard to pass up on the Heisman finalist.
Washington Redskins
2 of 3That picture says it when talking about the Washington Redskins.
Gone are the days of Joe Theisman, Doug Williams and Mark Rypien.
Instead, Redskins fans have had the pleasure of watching guys like Heath Shuler, an over-the-hill Mark Brunell, Jason Campbell and a washed-up Donovan McNabb take the snaps in our nation's capitol.
While Washington needs help seemingly all across the board, Dan Snyder and his crew need to be following Robert Griffin III everywhere he goes.
Many are speculating that the Cleveland Browns are going to select Griffin III with the second pick, but if Snyder wants the Heisman winner badly enough, he has the resources to make a deal happen.
Minnesota Vikings
3 of 3Brett Favre threw one of his signature late-game interceptions in the 2009 NFC Championship game against the eventual Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints, and not much has gone right for the Vikings since then.
Coming off of one of the worst seasons in franchise history in 2011, it is evident that Minnesota needs help on the offensive side of the football.
With the third-overall pick, expect to see the Vikings paying close attention to USC tackle Matt Kalil and Iowa tackel Riley Reiff.
The franchise believes they have found their future under center with Christian Ponder, so protecting the young quarterback and star running back Adrian Peterson is of the utmost importance.
Between Kalil and Reiff, whichever player has the better combine may just find themselves walking to the podium as the third-overall selection in the 2012 NFL draft.
