Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the 10 Biggest Blowhards in World Football
Blowhards in World Football aren't hard to find. These boastful, bragging, loud-mouthed people in football come in all shapes and sizes.
The hot air that spews from these guys at times leaves most fans of the game—both old and new—annoyed with their obnoxious behaviour.
Sometimes it can be amusing though.
Here's a list of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and World Football's biggest blowhards.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic
1 of 10Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a great player and certainly has an impressive silverware haul, but he is not the best player in the world.
That kind of talk can get annoying after a while, and Zlatan could learn some humility.
Jens Lehmann
2 of 10Jens Lehmann was a solid enough goalkeeper, but he was overconfident in his abilities and it showed on two separate occasions.
Firstly, he called out Germany's legendary Oliver Kahn, stating, "I can't really say that anybody else is better than I am."
On a second occasion after being benched by Arsene Wenger and having his spot taken by Manuel Almunia, he revealed his thoughts on the matter, saying he did not like having to watch someone play "who does not have my class."
"It's very frustrating. When I see the performances on the field, I get angry and I have to clench my fist in my pocket," Lehmann said.
Mario Balotelli
3 of 10Lets just run through a little list of things Mario Balotelli has said.
He claimed to not know who Jack Wilshere was, he claimed only Lionel Messi was better than him and he believes the Ballon d'Or is only a matter of time depending on Messi's continued form.
Alexi Lalas
4 of 10When Alexi Lalas is commentating or analyzing any match, it's really annoying.
He is really full of himself and it shows in the way that he talks and the answers that he gives.
Romario
5 of 10I do like Romario. He is definitely one of the greatest strikers and players of all time. He also blew a breath of fresh—I mean—hot air with some of his past comments.
Romario contended that he was a better player than Diego Maradona. Hmmm.
You were good Romario, but not that good.
Cristiano Ronaldo
6 of 10Cristiano Ronaldo supporters will always dispute these comments.
The guy is clearly a good player, but whether he was joking or not (and I really think if he said something like that he generally believes it) when he said he gets booed for being the star that he is, it comes off as being boastful.
Joey Barton
7 of 10Joey Barton claimed he was the best midfielder in England at one point. I think that's enough said. I do agree with you about Gareth Barry, though. Still don't know how he has gotten where he has.
Jose Mourinho
8 of 10He proclaimed he was a special one in his first news conference at Chelsea. To be honest, he kind of has backed it up since then with a decent haul of trophies. However, he is, in general, still a blowhard.
Brian Clough
9 of 10Brian Clough was never short of speaking his mind. He was completely sure of his managerial ability in such a way that it was boastful. His infamous speech to Leeds players when he first meets them, re-created here with creative influences, is an interesting showcase.
John Harkes
10 of 10Like his former national team colleague Alexi Lalas, John Harkes shouldn't really be in the commentary booths or analyzing games.
He is certainly a media blowhard for the way he conducts himself when presenting a match.
