Jordan Diamond Announcement: Which Finalists Offer the Best-Case Scenario?

Randy ChambersJun 7, 2018

National Signing Day was a few days ago, but that doesn't mean every top prospect in the country has made their final decision. There are still a handful of heavily recruited players that are still trying to decide on which team they would like to play for.

Offensive tackle Jordan Diamond is one of those players who has yet to sign any papers on which school he will end up attending. He is one of the top offensive linemen in the country at 6'6" and 290 pounds, and he would be an instant improvement to any offensive line.

The teams that remain on his list are Michigan, Arkansas, Auburn and Wisconsin. He's visited all of those schools and is set to make his decision today at 7:00 p.m. CT.

Here are the best case scenarios for each of the final four teams in contention.

Wisconsin

1 of 4

The Wisconsin Badgers are losing a lot of talented players to the NFL draft, but have reloaded in this year's recruiting class.

They picked up a solid quarterback in Bart Houston and a great guard in Dan Voltz. Wisconsin is a team with a lot of history and has the home field advantage, as the Badgers are only two and a half hours away from home.

Wisconsin is in an improving Big Ten and after two consecutive BCS bowl games, he could be a huge part of helping this team get over the hump.

Arkansas

2 of 4

Arkansas is  in the SEC, so the competition is there. They also have a fantastic offensive team that will compete for a BCS National Championship sooner than later.

Diamond would have a great opportunity to play quality minutes right away and would get to block for a a team that scores a ton of points. Isn't that what every lineman wants, besides scoring a touchdown themselves?

It is nearly 12 hours from his home in Chicago, but if Diamond wants to win, Arkansas may be the best place for him.

Auburn

3 of 4

Much like Arkansas, playing for Auburn in the SEC has to be very appealing for Diamond. Auburn may be very far away from home, but having a chance to compete against the best competition in the country is worth considering.

The Tigers also have the advantage with the recent commitment from another top tackle in Avery Young. You put these two players on the same line and you have two fantastic pieces to build around.

Auburn is a very young team that's very close to climbing back to the top. They have to be one of the favorites in this race.

Michigan

4 of 4

Michigan has to be the front-runner for Diamond's services.

If you think about what head coach Brady Hoke is doing for this program, it may be too great to walk away from. Michigan isn't that far away from home and the Wolverines have already received the commitment from his high school friend Chris Bryant.

The Wolverines have also already locked up several top offensive linemen, including Kyle Kalis, Erik Magnuson and A.J. Williams. This class is loaded with talent on the line and, with the addition of Diamond, could possibly secure one of the top offensive lines in the country moving forward.

Michigan arguably has the brighter future out of all of the teams he's considering. Don't be surprised if he ends up in Ann Arbor.
