Donald WoodFeb 1, 2012

The 2012 national signing day has already been wild and will continue to be wild all day.

Stars like Ronald Darby and the other big stars yet to commit will be making their decision later in the day. Until then, everyone will just have to sweat it out.

All of the following players are stellar recruits and they are names to look for this afternoon.

Ronald Darby

While many athletes are called fast or speedy during the recruiting process, there may be no bigger burner in this recruiting class than Ronald Darby.

The Maryland native is 5’11” and 176 pounds and comes in with the ability to play in all facets of the game. Any school that is lucky enough to snag the prospect will have a key weapon for the next few years.

Darby is one of the few recruits left in the country whose landing spot remains a mystery. He has considered Auburn, Notre Dame, Florida State and Maryland, but no clear leader has emerged.

Aziz Shittu

For those who don’t know much about Aziz Shittu, the 6’3” and 275-pound defensive end is one of the top recruits in the nation. The California native is the 27th overall recruit in the nation, according to Rivals, and third at his position.

Shittu is a smart player who has spent most of his time at one position in high school. That will work well when he moves into his defined role at whatever school he finally chooses.

With UCLA, USC and Stanford all contending for the services of Shittu, each school would be that much better with a stellar player of this caliber.

Andrus Peat

There may be better offensive linemen in the country, but none have a higher upside that 6’7”, 305-pound tackle Andrus Peat. Peat is ranked 32nd in the nation.

Peat has plenty of room to grow and is already becoming a stellar player. With whatever college he chooses getting him in perfect shape, he could be one of the best players out of this recruiting class.

Florida State, Nebraska, Stanford, USC all are top contenders for the star prospect, but we will find out later today when he makes his choice.
