National Signing Day Predictions: Where Will Top 3 Undecided Recruits Land?
As we get closer to National Signing Day on Wednesday, there are still three Top-10 recruits that have yet to sign with a school: Dorial Green-Beckham, Davonte Neal and Andrus Peat.
Green-Beckham, one of the most hyped prep receivers in years, has star written all over him and should make whoever lands him extremely happy.
Here's a look at where I see Green-Beckham, Neal and Peat eventually signing.
3. Andrus Peat, OT, Corona Del Sol High School (AZ)
Andrus Peat, the No. 2 offensive lineman in the 2012 class according to ESPNU, has made visits to Nebraska, Stanford and USC.
He's 6'7", 300 pounds, and has the strength, athleticism and explosion off the line that projects him as a star at the next level. In the Under Armour All-American Game, Peat was impressive against numerous top defensive ends.
I'm thinking it comes down to Nebraska and Stanford. His brother, defensive tackle Todd Peat, already plays for Nebraska, and I expect him to sign there.
Said Midwest recruiting writer Jared Shanker, via ESPN:
"Nebraska didn’t have a whole bunch of room. They had 14 or 15 guys, but they’re hoping to get three or four more. It looks like they’ll get Andrus Peat, one of the best tackles in the nation. He’s a guy they’ve been high on the whole time.
"
You have to wonder if Peat would be leaning toward Stanford at this point if Andrew Luck was going to be there next season.
2. Davonte Neal, ATH, Chaparral High School (AZ)
It's pretty up in the air where Davonte Neal will land at this point, but he's visited or plans to visit Ohio State, Notre Dame, Arizona, Arkansas, North Carolina and Oklahoma.
Ohio State and Notre Dame appear to be the front-runners. Neal did have a nice visit to North Carolina this week and his grandmother lives close by, but the Tar Heels aren't the same powerhouse as some of these other squads right now.
I expect Neal to also visit Oklahoma in about two weeks time after getting on the phone with head coach Bob Stoops. That means the Sooners would likely get the last word with Neal, which sometimes can be the difference.
Nonetheless, I think the prospect of playing for Urban Meyer, who is an outstanding recruiter, will ultimately sway Neal to Ohio State.
1. Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, Hillcrest High School (MO)
It appears pretty clear by now that Dorial Green-Beckham will choose between Missouri or Arkansas on National Signing Day.
Green-Beckham visited both schools last, who are in his home state, with Missouri getting the last word.
Tulsa World writer John Hoover tweeted:
"Extremely good source just told me Dorial Green-Beckham to Missouri. Influental visit last wknd. Things can change but I trust him.
"
There's also this little nugget, per the Springfield News-Leader:
"All six of the Rivals.com national experts polled last week said Green-Beckham would be a Razorback. Now, five of the six have switched to Missouri since Sunday night.
"
I have to go with the tide and pick Missouri. He'd be special in that offense, too.
