National Signing Day 2025: Final Recruit Announcement Schedule and Predictions
Many of the top high school football players in the country now send in their national letters of intent to college programs during the early signing period, which occurs in December. They sign at that time, then many of them enroll at the school.
Not everybody, though. Some recruits still wait for the traditional National Signing Day, which is taking place Wednesday. It remains the deadline to get the NLIs sent in.
There are notable names in the recruiting rankings who are unsigned, so there will be news coming in throughout the day. An announcement schedule is available at 247Sports.com.
Here's a look at several recruits who are set to announce a commitment, along with predictions for where each will end up.
Ty Haywood, 4-star Offensive Tackle
1 of 3
Announcement time: Wednesday at 9 a.m. ET
Several schools are in the running to land Ty Haywood, a 4-star offensive tackle from Denton, Texas. Among the options he's considering are Florida State, Michigan and Texas Tech.
However, it's seemed clear for a while now that the Wolverines are the favorite to land Haywood. He decommitted from Alabama on Jan. 13, then took an official visit to Michigan four days later.
If the Wolverines can bring in Haywood, it would be a strong final boost to their 2025 recruiting class. The 6-foot-5, 285-pound standout is the No. 39 overall recruit and the No. 6 offensive tackle in the class, per the 247Sports Composite rankings.
It would be a bit of a surprise if Haywood didn't pick Michigan, so expect him to do so.
Prediction: Michigan
Zahir Mathis, 4-star Edge Rusher
2 of 3
Announcement time: Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET
It was a two-school race for 4-star edge rusher Zahir Mathis heading into National Signing Day. The standout from Philadelphia will be committing to either Florida State or Maryland.
The Terrapins have been getting some recent momentum, as they had Mathis on campus for an official visit on Jan. 31. But he also took a trip to meet with the Seminoles last month, taking an official visit on Jan. 10.
Ohio State is no longer in the running, as Mathis decommitted from the Buckeyes on Nov. 18 and has since been exploring other options.
So, will Mathis be heading to the ACC or the Big Ten? The prediction here is the latter, as he'll pick Maryland, which made a strong late push to land his commitment.
Prediction: Maryland
Madrid Tucker, 3-star Athlete
3 of 3
Announcement time: Wednesday at noon ET
Another recruit down to two choices heading into National Signing Day is 3-star athlete Madrid Tucker. The Fort Myers, Fla., standout will be committing to either North Carolina or West Virginia on Wednesday.
Both of these schools have made late pushes for Tucker. West Virginia offered him on Jan. 10, then he took an official visit with the Mountaineers on Jan. 24. North Carolina offered him on Jan. 13, then he took an official visit with the Tar Heels on Jan. 17.
Either of these programs could land Tucker. But the prediction here is that it will be UNC.
New Tar Heels coach Bill Belichick will get the job done in having Tucker join the program, as he'll be a notable addition to the program's 2025 class.
Prediction: North Carolina
