Under Armour All-America Game 2025: Score, Recruit Commitments and Reaction

Scott PolacekJan 2, 2025

While the ongoing College Football Playoff is dominating discussions surrounding the sport, teams always need to keep an eye on the future.

And the future of college football was on full display Thursday at the 2025 Under Armour All-American Game at Spec Martin Stadium in DeLand, Florida. Some of the nation's top prospects from the 2025 and 2026 recruiting classes took the field in the first Under Armour All-American Game to also feature juniors.

Team Icon defeated Team Unstoppable 31-19 thanks in large part to strong performances from quarterback Keelon Russell (Alabama), wide receiver Dakorien Moore (Oregon) and running back Anthony Rogers (Ohio State).

There was no shortage of star power with 5-star Russell, 5-star Moore (Oregon) and 5-star safety Jonah Williams (Texas) suiting up for Team Icon and 5-star defensive lineman Elijah Griffin (Georgia) and 5-star cornerback Na'eem Offord (Oregon) suiting up for Team Unstoppable.

It wasn't long ago the top talent on the field at the Under Armour All-American Game was largely uncommitted. The game was seen as a destination for recruits to announce their college decisions, but the accelerated calendar with an early signing day, transfer portal and NIL in today's college football has largely changed that.

However, there were still four commitments on the Thursday schedule in 2025 prospect Donovan Murph and 2026 prospects JJ Dunnigan, JaReylan McCoy and Carnell Warren.

Murph, who is a 4-star wide receiver, chose South Carolina over Clemson, Colorado, Ole Miss and Tennessee, giving the Gamecocks a future playmaker who should help them build on this season's momentum in the immediate future.

Dunnigan, who is a 3-star cornerback, chose Kansas over Kansas State and Nebraska, giving the Jayhawks a key commitment over their primary rivals that should pay off on the field.

McCoy, who is a 4-star defensive lineman, chose LSU over Alabama, Tennessee and USC, representing a major win for Tigers head coach Brian Kelly on the recruiting trail.

Warren, who is a 4-star wide receiver, chose Virginia Tech over Duke, Georgia Tech and Wake Forest, giving the Hokies an excellent start to their 2026 class.

As for the game, the stars shined bright in the early going.

Moore opened the scoring with an 84-yard punt return for Team Icon and then hauled in a pass from Russell to help set up a touchdown run for Rogers. Oregon might be fresh off a Rose Bowl loss to the Buckeyes in the College Football Playoff, but the future still looks quite bright with players like Moore arriving soon.

Moore continued to make plays with his elusiveness and ability to break tackles on another catch from Russell, which helped set up a touchdown pass from the Alabama commit to Florida signee Naeshaun Montgomery. However, Team Unstoppable answered back with a touchdown run from Texas quarterback signee KJ Lacey to remain within striking distance heading into the second half.

The biggest development in the second half was an apparent ankle injury to Russell when he took a hard hit on a throw. While he didn't return to the exhibition, sideline reports on the broadcast said he told the coaching staff he could return if needed.

The defenses stood strong for much of the second half after that with Alabama signee Dijon Lee and Dunnigan each notching interceptions.

A strong performance by the defense, timely runs by Rogers and field goals by Arkansas kicker signee Scott Starzyk was enough for Team Icon to hold off any comeback attempts.
