NFL Draft Rumors: Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers, Xavier Worthy to Visit Bears
The Chicago Bears will host Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy and UCLA edge-rusher Laiatu Latu for predraft visits Monday, according to Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic.
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported LSU wideout Malik Nabers is also making the trip to the Windy City.
All signs point to the Bears taking USC quarterback Caleb Williams first overall in the 2024 NFL draft. Monday's visits are presumably lined up with the No. 9 pick in mind
The Bears are in a somewhat unique position in that they may not have that much on their plate relatively speaking. Chicago has just four picks in the draft, and the outcome for one of those picks might be a foregone conclusion at this point.
That allows general manager Ryan Poles, head coach Matt Eberflus and everyone else to think long and hard about the best route at No. 9.
"I like the numbers in terms of the talented players that can get to nine," Poles said, per Larry Mayer of the Bears' official site. "We're going to do some cool things when we get back, kind of break into teams. One team is going to talk about [why] the tackle position is the best to go after, [why] the receiver's the best, [why] the defensive end's the best and use factual information to spit that out—and we'll have a debate in terms of what's more impactful for our football team, short-term and long-term."
D.J. Moore caught 96 passes for 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns in his first year with the Bears. He performed well despite Justin Fields' inconsistent play at quarterback and the play-calling of former offensive coordinator Luke Getsy.
It may not be too early to consider his eventual free agency in 2026. Selecting Harrison, Nabers or Worthy would give Chicago another talented pass-catcher to pair with Moore right now and a possible successor down the line.
Latu, on the other hand, would give the team a potentially devastating edge duo with Montez Sweat on the opposite side of the line. Sweat had six sacks in nine games after his trade to the Bears and he's signed for four more years.
If Chicago believes Latu is that good, then the team might as well take him. Having two picks in the top 10 provides some flexibility to target value over need.
