Ohio State Football Recruiting 2023: Ryan Day's Top Commits Landed and Predictions
The Ohio State faithful may not be signing Ryan Day's praises, but he's certainly got a quality recruiting class coming into Columbus.
Ohio State currently sits as the No. 2 class as the early signing period hits, with only Georgia above the Buckeyes according to 247Sports.
Here is a look at some of the high-profile commits Day's got to at least verbally commit.

Ohio State Set to Remain WR U
1 of 2
While their quarterbacks have been a mixed bag of production, Ohio State has consistently churned out some of the NFL's best wide receivers in recent years. Marvin Harrison Jr. will become the fourth Buckeyes wideout to be taken in the first round in the last three years, joining Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
If the Buckeyes' 2024 class lives up to the hype, they should continue churning out top talent. Smith is the nation's top overall player, a seeming generational talent who possesses elite top-end speed, size and catch radius. It would be a shock if Smith did not step immediately into the starting lineup next season.
Smith is so good that he almost obscures two more elite prospects in Graham and McClellan—with the keyword being almost. Graham and McClellan are a little smaller in stature (in comparison to Smith) but make up for their ball skills and quickness.
There's not much more to say here. Ohio State is and remains the premier university for top receivers.
Air Noland Has a Cool Name and Might Have to Step in Right Away
2 of 2
With a name like Air Noland, this incoming freshman had about three career choices: quarterback, basketball player and pilot.
Anything else would have been a disservice to one of the best names in all of sports.
Luckily, he'll step foot on Ohio State's campus as a 4-star recruit with the potential to take over the starting job as a freshman. Noland is the sixth-ranked quarterback in the 2024 class and enters a Buckeyes job that's wide open after the transfer of Kyle McCord.
247Sports compares Noland to Heisman finalist Michael Penix Jr.
"Owns a quick, compact release that is believed to be one of the fastest –if not the fastest– in the 2024 cycle," Andre Ivins wrote. "More than comfortable on the move and has plenty of experience running RPOs out of a single-back spread attack. Will beat defenders to the sticks with his legs, and is more than creative when the pocket starts to break down, but shouldn't be considered a run-first quarterback as he keeps his eyes downfield while working through his progressions and always seems to be looking for the home run."
Ohio State may dip into the transfer portal to replace McCord, but for now, Noland has a chance to make an instant impact.
