Colorado Football Recruiting 2023: Deion Sanders' Top Commits Landed and Predictions

Timothy RappDec 19, 2023

Deion Sanders' first season in Colorado started with a bang, as the team won its first three games and quickly became one of the biggest stories in sports.

The fun ended once the Pac-12 schedule hit, however, as the Buffaloes finished 4-8 and lost six games in a row to end the season.

Nonetheless, Coach Prime has Boulder buzzing, and all eyes now turn to the recruiting trail. Below, we'll break down the top commitments he's landed for the Class of 2024 and make some predictions about any other potential additions for the remainder of the cycle.

The Buffaloes haven't set the world on fire in the 2024 recruiting cycle and rank just 62nd in 247Sports' Composite Rankings. But Sanders did land some heavy hitters.

Interior offensive lineman Jordan Seaton, a 5-star recruit who is the top offensive tackle prospect in the Class of 2024 and the No. 16 player overall, headlines the group.

He's joined by four 4-star prospects: Wide receiver Drelon Miller (No. 65 overall), athlete Kamron Mikell (No. 104 overall), defensive lineman Brandon Davis-Swain (No. 230 overall) and defensive lineman Omar White (No. 427 overall).

The main prediction is this—Sanders will bolster his team more through the transfer portal than he will in traditional recruiting this cycle. He's hit the portal hard yet again, bringing in 15 total players, including four offensive lineman, wideout Terrell Timmons Jr. and tight end Chamon Metayer, among others.

Clearly, keeping quarterback Shedeur Sanders upright and healthy next season was a priority, as the offensive line has gotten quite the makeover.

Sanders has seen more than a few commits back out in the past month or so, and Colorado fans shouldn't get their hopes up that one of them—4-star wideout Aaron Butler—will reconsider. Arizona and Washington are the clear favorites at this point, and the Buffs feel well out of the running.

But don't be shocked if there's still a recruiting surprise or two up Sanders' sleeve. Nobody expected the Buffs to land Seaton and he pulled off that trick. Coach Prime may have more where that came from.
