BCS Bowl Predictions: 3 Teams That Will Fail in BCS Limelight
The BCS limelight can be too bright for many teams. While there will be a loser in all five games, three teams will fail in a way that will leave questions about their seasons and the BCS process.
Here are the the three teams whose losses will be fuel for debate going into next season.
Virginia Tech
The Hokies played terribly in two meetings against the Clemson Tigers this year. They were outscored 61-13 by the Tigers. The Hokies played only one other ranked team, with an 11 point victory over Georgia Tech.
After they lose to Michigan in the Sugar Bowl, you can bet the chatter will be about the soft schedule the Hokies rode to a BCS bowl berth.
Clemson
The Tigers victimized themselves this year. Were it not for the inexcusable misstep to N.C. State, they would probably have drawn Michigan in the Orange Bowl.
The Tigers are extremely talented, and they will outclass West Virginia when the lights come on. Expect this to catapult them to a strong 2012 season.
LSU
If every game is a playoff game, why should the Alabama win I predict will happen be more important than LSU's win over the Crimson Tide on Nov 5th?
It shouldn't, but in this current structure, there is too much gray area. Regular season games should be for postseason inclusion, placement and home-field advantage. The line between playoff and postseason shouldn't be blurred.
Now, many will again question the BCS. Alabama will hoist the trophy with a record that is technically inferior, 12-1 to 13-1, simply because their win happened later in the season.
