Michael Jordan Fiance: Yvette Prieto Makes MJ a Winner off the Court
Michael Jordan may be retired.
He may be one of the most hated owners in basketball.
But, outside of basketball, he's doing quite well.
Word came out via ESPNNewYork.com Thursday that Jordan—who was married to Juanita Vanoy from 1989-2006—has just become engaged to Cuban-American model Yvette Prieto, whom he has been dating for three years.
Although Jordan's personal life is going swimmingly, he has had trouble as owner of the Charlotte Bobcats since his playing days.
After winning six NBA titles and being called the greatest player of all time, the 48-year-old has run into trouble in Charlotte.
The Bobcats haven't exactly been a model of success lately. Last season, the Bobcats went 34-48 and missed out on the playoffs despite being in the weaker Eastern Conference.
Jordan was also rumored to be one of the owners stalling NBA labor talks this offseason, inspiring some drama behind the scenes; former NBA point guard Stephon Marbury reportedly called Jordan a "sellout" at the time.
Nonetheless, Jordan has to be happy getting engaged to Prieto; looks like he can soar even without his Nikes, and business suits will do.
If Jordan needed anything else to boost his image as a premier marketer after basketball, this should do it.
