BCS Bowl Games: Star Players That Will Shine on Big Stage
In the national spotlight, the elite players step up when their teams need them the most. Sure, there will be some players that flop in the BCS bowl games, but others are going to dominate.
Since its the final game of the year for these teams, and last college game ever for some, expect the stars to excel and end on a good note.
Not everyone is going to play their best game during the bowl season, but the best of the best will get the job done.
With that said, here are five players sure to shine in the BCS bowl games.
Montee Ball, RB
1 of 5The Wisconsin Badgers running back has been a powerful force all season long. He led the nation in rushing with over 1,700 yards and he scored 38 total touchdowns.
Ball will be heavily relied upon against the Oregon Ducks in the Rose Bowl, and he's not going to disappoint.
Expect him to get around 25 touches, and he'll make the most of them helping lead the Badgers to a victory in the "Granddaddy of Them All."
Andrew Luck, QB
2 of 5In what will likely be his final collegiate game, the Stanford quarterback is going to show everyone why he's a sure-fire lock for the No. 1 pick.
The Fiesta Bowl might be the most anticipated matchup this postseason, and fans can expect a ton of offense in this game.
However, it will be Luck that stands tall and shreds the Oklahoma State Cowboys to pieces. The Cowboys rank 107th in total defense and Luck won't have any troubles delivering a knockout performance.
Denard Robinson, QB
3 of 5The Michigan Wolverines star player has put the team on his back in a number of occasions and he'll do it once more in the Sugar Bowl against the Virginia Tech Hokies.
There's no denying Robinson has the clutch gene, and he'll step up for the Wolverines and have a monster performance.
Robinson is going to burn the Hokies with his arm and legs, leading Michigan to a sound victory over Virginia Tech.
Sammy Watkins, WR
4 of 5With DeAndre Hopkins questionable after suffering a mild concussion in a recent car accident, Watkins knows he has to play even better than expected.
Watkins was one of, if not the most outstanding freshman players all season, and he'll continue to show the nation what he's made of against West Virginia in the Orange Bowl.
The Clemson Tigers may be young, but they're loaded with talent. Watkins broke onto the scene and stole the show this year for Clemson and he'll do the same thing on the big stage in the coming week.
Trent Richardson, RB
5 of 5Richardson may have been held out of the end zone the first time Alabama and LSU played, but he won't let that happen again.
In the "Game of the Century" on November 5th, Richardson had 89 yards rushing and 80 yards receiving. The Tigers struggled to limit the Crimson Tide's top player then, and the same fate will happen in the BCS title game.
Only this time, Richardson will make sure he puts six points on the board and don't be surprised if he manages to get more.
