And Then There Were Three
After today's reporting all but eliminated the Golden State Warriors from the LeBron James chase, it looks like a trio of Eastern Conference hopefuls are all that remains.
LeBron is likely deciding between the Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers and Cleveland Cavaliers. And predictions markets now have the Heat as the overwhelming favorite.
If that is indeed where James winds up, there will be some concerns on the shooting front. Starting LeBron, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo could cramp the offense.
But that's a ton of talent, and the rest of the roster is maybe deeper than you realize. Andrew Wiggins, Davion Mitchell, Bobby Portis, Dru Smith and Simone Fontecchio and Tim Hardaway Jr. can all be helpful players. There's still some untapped potential in Nikola Joviฤ and Pelle Larsson. LeBron is exactly the kind of leader who can tie it all together.
If this saga ends with his return to the Heat, they'll be a title contender.
