5 Things We Would Do Differently If We Could Rewind the 2011 NFL Season
The 2011 NFL regular season has entered the stretch run and while a multitude of things have gone well for teams across the league (especially those in Wisconsin), there were also several things that didn't exactly work out as planned.
They say that hindsight is always 20/20, so let's throw on our reading glasses and look at five things we would certainly have done differently before the season began if we knew then what we know now.
1. Tim Tebow Would Have Started from Day 1
1 of 5He isn't racking up any style points doing it, but with yet another come-from-behind win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday the Denver Broncos are now 7-1 with second-year pro Tim Tebow under center. Last I checked, that's the only stat that really matters.
2. The Eagles Would Have Hired a Defensive Coordinator
2 of 5It was somewhat puzzling when the Philadelphia Eagles promoted offensive line coach Juan Castillo to defensive coordinator in the offseason. Given the sad state of the Eagles defense this year, it doesn't make any more sense now than it did then.
3. Donovan McNabb Would Have Been out of Work Sooner
3 of 5The writing was on the wall that the Minnesota Vikings acquisition of quarterback Donovan McNabb was a risky proposition given how badly he struggled last year in Washington.
As it turned out, that writing spelled out "debacle" in big purple letters for the 2-11 Vikings who have since jettisoned the rotund former Pro-Bowler.
4. The Patriots Would Get Some Defensive Backs
4 of 5The New England Patriots are 10-3 and headed towards another AFC East title, but their pass defense (if you can call it that) is ranked dead last in the National Football League and may well prove to be their undoing in the postseason.
5. Fantasy Football Drafts Would Look MUCH Different
5 of 5Quarterback Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers would have been drafted earlier, running back Peyton Hillis of the Cleveland Browns would have been drafted much later, and approximately nine million other things would be done differently if we could take a mulligan on last summer's fantasy football drafts.
