NBA Trade Rumors: Which Players Will Avoid Changing Zip Codes?
With all the trade rumors swirling around in the NBA, it's easy to get caught up in all the hoopla.
But several names that have been mentioned in trade rumors may actually stay with their current teams.
Some of these players have been mentioned as possible pieces to land bigger stars.
Here are three players who will avoid changing zip codes this season.
3. Reggie Williams, F, Golden State Warriors
Reggie Williams may not be known to the average fan, but he surprised the NBA last season with the Warriors when he emerged from the D-League and became a solid NBA player.
Williams is technically a restricted free agent, but the Charlotte Bobcats have reportedly been inquiring about the third-year swingman who shot 46 percent from the floor last season and 42 percent from 3-point range.
And even if the Warriors re-sign Williams, there's still the chance they could trade him given the right offer.
But the fact of the matter is, there likely won't be an offer too high for him because teams haven't seen enough of him to project him down the road. He averaged 20 minutes per game last season.
As for the Warriors, they know just how valuable he can be.
2. Eric Gordon, SG, Los Angeles Clippers
The New Orleans Hornets have reportedly pursued Eric Gordon and Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry the most in finding a trade partner for Chris Paul.
But the Clippers aren't getting an assurance from the Hornets that Paul will sign an extension with the team before hitting free agency in 2012.
That makes it hard to trade a young cornerstone in their backcourt.
1. Stephen Curry, G, Golden State Warriors
The Warriors, like the Clippers, have gotten no assurances from Paul or the Hornets that he would sign an extension with them if they acquired him.
Parting with a solid young player in Curry without this assurance would simply be foolish.
Expect the third-year pro to stick with the Warriors this season alongside Monta Ellis as they go after center Tyson Chandler instead.
