WWE Rumors: Randy Orton, Triple H, CM Punk and Wednesday's Top WWE News

Adam WellsDec 7, 2011

After yesterday's angry WWE talk, it is safe to say that things have calmed down considerably. There is still venom that needs to be spewed, but there will be some happy thoughts mixed in because it is a season to be happy.

We are still getting matches for the TLC pay-per-view set, and there was some movement on that front at the SmackDown tapings on Tuesday night. We will have some spoilers in here, but we will have a disclaimer warning you if you don't want to know.

In addition to that, we will have all the latest news and information from the wacky world of sports entertainment. If you want to say something, don't be shy. Here is our WWE rundown for Wednesday.

CM PUNK'S HAND DOESN'T PREVENT HIM FROM SMACKING THE ROCK

Our beloved WWE champion tweeted a picture of his hand being X-rayed due to a broken bone. The lame ode to John Cena aside, it still didn't prevent him from retweeting a tidbit that someone sent him about The Rock claiming to have the best-selling T-shirt in WWE.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Why does CM Punk hate The Rock?

Our Take: Punk loves wrestling, and The Rock is a part-time novelty act that WWE puts in main events. He has a problem with that because he thinks this is what is wrong with the company today. He doesn't mind cashing those bigger checks that he gets when Rock is at an event though.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Random Google Searches of David Otunga

While Punk's beef with The Rock is legitimate, it could—and this is just speculation by me—be a way of jockeying for a match with The Great One at some point in the future. If this leads to that, I am all for it.

TRIPLE H WAS TOO BUSY RUINING RAW TO DO ANYTHING WITH KEVIN NASH

For those of you who were perplexed as to why the Triple H-Kevin Nash match was announced in a truly awesome and epic backstage segment between Nash and David Otunga, it's because Triple H was in charge of Raw and unable to take three minutes to actually appear on television.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Is this what WWE is going to be with Triple H running the show?

Our Take: While there was some excitement when Triple H took over as COO in the summer, the shows did not get better. I know Vince McMahon still made final decisions, but if Triple H is learning from him, then is he really going to turn things around when he has complete control?

Hype Meter: 3 out of 5 Triple H Burials of Young Stars

Contrary to popular belief, I want to like wrestling. But when WWE puts out crap like it did on Monday, with Triple H in charge, it is really hard to keep defending the product. Maybe we should start burying him for being bad at his current job.

This section is just a disclaimer that the next area is going to be a spoiler about SmackDown and a match for TLC, so if you don't want to know anything then scroll down really fast so that it remains a mystery until Friday for you.

RANDY ORTON IS A BIG FAN OF THROWING DUDES THROUGH TABLES

Randy Orton has been on a roll lately, at least as far as his in-ring work is concerned. Sure, he isn't getting wins, but for someone of his stature he doesn't have to win every week. He is going to have a chance to keep doing the right thing at TLC in a Tables Match against Wade Barrett.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Will Wade Barrett really go over Randy Orton on consecutive PPVs?

Our Take: While WWE has a (stupid) policy of not putting anyone over its top stars too often, Orton seems to be the exception because he is jobbing and it has been great because the company needs it. I think Barrett will go over again, but it will probably be some fluke so no one gets over.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Voices In My Head

Potentially horrible WWE booking aside, I am really liking Randy Orton right now. He is evolving in ways that I didn't think were possible. Now we will see if he can keep his hot streak alive in an important match for both Barrett and himself.

MORE RUMORS ABOUT MYSTERIOUS "IT BEGINS" SUPERSTAR

While Jan. 2 is not that far away, WWE is going to drop a big hint about who is behind the creepy vignettes on the Raw show after the TLC pay-per-view. That's really smart because people are always watching television the week of Christmas.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Should we believe that the videos are for Chris Jericho?

Our Take: Angry twitter denials aside, I don't see anyway that this can't be for the return of the Best In The World at What He Does. It has to be someone big and who will actually be around longer than two months. Plus, I really want to see Jericho and CM Punk at WrestleMania.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Big Words Jericho Says That Make Me Feel Stupid

Jericho left WWE as the best all-around performer that the company had. One year away is not likely to make him better than ever if he is coming back, but he will still be better than almost anyone else currently on the roster.

LILIAN GARCIA RETURNING TO WWE BECAUSE HER OWN MUSIC CAREER BOMBED

Ending things on a positive note, Lilian Garcia is going to be coming back to WWE as a ring announcer. The catch: She will be working on SmackDown instead of Raw. But at least one show will have a good announcer.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Where is Howard Finkel?

Our Take: Because Vince McMahon cares about appearances a lot more than who is actually the best at their job, Fink's one-time appearance at Survivor Series will likely be the last time that we see him for a long, long time.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Welcome Back, Lilian Chants

While I would prefer to have Lilian back on Raw because Justin Roberts isn't good, having her back in WWE is a good thing, regardless of the show that she is on.
