WWE TLC 2011: Will CM Punk's Hand Injury Hamper WWE Title Match?

Donald WoodDec 6, 2011

CM Punk is the best star the WWE has on the roster, but he may not be working at 100 percent physically.

Despite having to defend his WWE championship on December 18 at TLC against two superstars instead of one, the star has remained his normal cocky self.

There may be a problem, though.

This morning, Punk tweeted that before he was getting his workout in, he would be heading to get X-rays. I have never gotten X-rays unless something was physically wrong, so speculation has run rampant on just how severe the actual injury could be.

Punk’s tweet has lit the Internet on fire, something that Vince McMahon has to be furious about. The problem is that this time, Punk is the monster that McMahon created.

Punk followed the X-ray tweet with a twitpic of his hand in the classic John Cena hustle, loyalty and respect formation. A true ode to an American hero.

The biggest questions to arise from these tweets are whether or not Punk will be affected during his match at the TLC PPV and how limited will these keep him long-term.

There is a good possibility that the WWE may have known about this injury and wanted to include the two other participants as to take the pressure off the ailing Punk. Punk is tough as nails, and through his days in Ring of Honor, was one of the toughest guys they ever had.

It’s hard to imagine him missing a show. Every wrestler works injured.

With two able participants in this WWE championship match, it will be easy to allow Punk to do the least amount of work he possibly could to ensure no aggravation of the possible injury.

The WWE also can forget that as pig as every PPV is, the Royal Rumble is next on the docket after TLC. They need Punk healthy moving forward, so they need to do anything it takes to get Punk healthy.

While it’s all probably nothing more than minor damage, the possibility of CM Punk being hurt is a big deal now that he is a superstar.
