Where: FedEx Field, Landover, MD
When: Sunday, Dec. 4 at 1:00 p.m. EDT
Watch: CBS
Listen: 1050 AM ESPN – Jets, 980 AM ESPN - Redskins
Betting Line: Jets -3
What's At Stake?
The Jets need this game to keep their postseason dreams alive for the third straight season under head coach Rex Ryan.
At 6-5, the team is sitting outside of the playoffs right now and really don’t have a hope of catching the Patriots in the division.
They need to earn a wild-card spot that the 7-4 Bengals and the 8-3 Steelers currently occupy. It won’t be easy and they can’t afford to drop any winnable games like this one.
The ‘Skins are hoping to play spoiler as they are just 4-7 and have very slim playoff chances.
Jets Injury Report
WR Jeremy Kerley – QST (Knee) – The rookie WR returned to practice on Wednesday after missing the past two weeks with injury. The team desperately needs him back as the No. 3 receiver for Mark Sanchez to go to.
RB LaDainian Tomlinson – QST (Knee) – LT is also back at practice after missing two games. He should be able to go on Sunday and will give the offense a much needed boost.
Redskins Injury Report
DE Stephen Bowen – DBT (Knee) – Bowen suffered a third-degree PCL tear but coach Mike Shanahan refuses to rule him out right now. He has five sacks this season but most likely will not play for some time.
Fantasy Start 'Em, Sit' Em and Sleeper
Start ‘Em: Fred Davis
Davis is the most consistent receiver the Redskins possess and it helps that he plays the tight end position for most fantasy teams.
His production from that spot is uncanny and he should have himself a nice game against the undersized NYJ safeties.
Sit ‘Em: Santonio Holmes
Washington has a surprisingly stout secondary and pass rush despite their terrible record. They will do a good job of containing Holmes and forcing Sanchez into making bad throws. It won’t be fun for anyone who owns those players in fantasy.
Sleeper: Jets Defense
Rex Ryan prides himself on the defense of his team and they are going to be the reason they make or miss the postseason.
A strong showing is key on Sunday for them to advance into the playoffs so they may step it up big time and force a bunch of interceptions and fumbles.
What They're Saying
Conor Orr over at The Star-Ledger found that Redskins coach Mike Shanahan was surprised the Bills attacked star CB Darrelle Revis last week.
""I was a little bit surprised, I think he was a little surprised. He wasn't ready for that because nobody does that and it probably caught him a little bit by surprise," Shanahan said. "I don't think anybody is going to catch him by surprise anymore. They might do that once but it's not going to happen again.
"If you watch him on tape, anytime he's challenged he plays at a very high level. He didn't think he was going to get challenged in that game and he was a bit surprised himself."
"
Mark Maske of The Washington Post is reporting that coach Ryan believes that his team can do anything once they make the playoffs, they just need to get there.
"“We have to prove it on the field. But I absolutely think we’re a playoff team and then when you get in there, anything can happen. So the main thing is to get in there." Ryan said. "That’s certainly what we plan on doing and I think we’ll be a dangerous team when we get there.”

Jets Player to Watch: Plaxico Burress
The big WR scores a TD seemingly ever other game recently and just caught one against the Bills this past Sunday.
Can he do what he has yet to this season and score in back-to-back weeks?
I think so, but history isn’t on his side.
Redskins Player to Watch: Roy Helu
Helu got the start against the Seahawks and proved to be the spark plug the team needed.
He went off for 108 yards and a TD on 23 carries and caught seven passes for 57 yards as well.
Let’s see if he can continue that type of production now that he is the full-time starter.
Key Matchup: Jets D versus Redskins O
It’s obvious that the Jets have a solid but underwhelming offense. They rely on their defense to bail them out and get them the ball back.
If they can’t do that on Sunday, the Jets could risk dropping a crucial game to the Skins and submarine their postseason play.
