Breaking Down New Nike LeBron 9 "Miami Hurricanes" Shoes

Kyle VassaloNov 29, 2011

The Nike LeBron 9 "Miami Hurricanes" shoes that drop on November 29th aren't going to be easy to find and only a lucky few retailers near Miami are going to carry them, but every self-respecting fan of the "U" is going to need to get their hands on them.

Hurricane fans and those who are in love with the Nike LeBron 9's are going to be blown away with these shoes.

Let's take a closer look at these shoes and see how they grade out.

WOW Factor: 10 out of 10

Love or hate these shoes, it's impossible to argue that the "WOW" factor isn't in full effect here.

The Miami color scheme really pops off the unique design of the shoe and forces everyone to look at them.

These shoes catch the attention of everyone within a 1 1/2-mile radius of them and though they aren't going to be everyone's cup of tea, they are bold, if nothing else.

Design: 8 out of 10

These shoes look like they are from outer space, in both a good and bad way. The color scheme obviously screams the "U" and couldn't have been more perfect.

The actual design of the shoe is what brings it down a bit, being a bit too funky and all over the place on the side to warrant a 10. These shoes aren't for everyone, but there is certainly a niche group of sneaker heads who are going to see this as a home run.

Overall Swag Grade: 9 out of 10

There are certain people who are going to be able to pull the full 10 out of 10 swag this shoe allows for. It's the perfect shoe for Hurricane fans who want to show off their fanhood and sneaker junkies are going to fall in love with their captivating look.

These shoes are somewhat one-dimensional and the opportunities to break them out are going to be limited, but that doesn't take away from the overall swag grade.

Bang for Your Buck: 1 out of 10

The $170 price tag is going to turn some people off. These aren't a pair of shoes you are going to be able to wear time and time again and with limited opportunities to rock these pricey kicks, $170 seems steep.

It's obviously not going to scare everyone away, as these unique shoes are going to be a must-have pickup for some, regardless of how much they cost.
