WWE Raw: 8 Celebrities/Athletes We Actually Want to See Guest Host Raw

Cory TemplehofNov 22, 2011

Hello, members of the B/R Community!

On this past Monday's Raw, we may have a dodged a bullet in the form of Jonah Hill.

Now, I am a fan of the actor and enjoy his movies. But does that mean I want to see him take up deserving time that Professional Wrestlers (as CM Punk calls them) work hard for?

No, I do not.

Early last year, the WWE ended this stretch of celebrities and athletes hosting Raw on an weekly basis. For fans who hated seeing these celebrities week in and week out, it was music to our ears. For fans who would endure the Anonymous Raw GM for the next year, it was terrible news.

Presently with John Laurinaitis running the show, who can blame the WWE for throwing a celebrity Guest Host here and there.

With the latest choices to run Raw, such as Hugh Jackman and The Muppets, WWE seems to be choosing their Guest Hosts more wisely and displaying them in small, effective doses.

Here are 10 Celebrities/Athletes we’d like to see Guest Star on Raw!

Stacey Keibler and George Clooney: New Hollywood Power Couple

1 of 8

The Divas Division is in a state of flux.

I don’t see Keibler and Clooney hosting Raw fixing that problem in the least.

But I do see fans not taking their usual bathroom break during a Divas segment that includes a returning Stacy Keibler.

George Clooney could add a sense of humor to their act by secretly flirting with Divas like the Bellas backstage.

Stacy Keibler interrupting The Divas of Doom picking on Kelly Kelly to tell them that she and Kelly will show them that Barbie Doll Divas can go in the ring. Keibler and Kelly Kelly (w/George Clooney) team up against Natalya and Beth Phoenix (w/The Bella Twins).

Dwight Howard: Center for the Orlando Magic

With the NBA Lockout in full swing, why waste great athletic talent?

There have been reports that Shaquille O’Neal and LeBron James are rumored to appear on WWE programming in the future.

Both have been on Raw on separate occasions in a small capacity.

With that said, Shaq is getting up there with age, and LeBron isn’t as charismatic as some other NBA talents.

That is where Dwight Howard comes in.

He is a young stud in the NBA and has a ton of personality that would compliment some of the current WWE Roster very nicely.

Howard comes out to tell the crowd that he is happy to host Raw but upset that he can’t play the sport that he loves and wishes he could give The NBA Owners and NBA Commissioner a piece of his mind.

CM Punk comes out to tell Howard that he understands what Howard is going through with contract negations.

Punk tells Howard that he told his owner to go to stick it and now he is champion. Howard proceeds to drop a pipe bomb on David Stern as well as The Owners.

Jennifer Hudson: Singer/Actress

The Academy Award winner is bound to make her way to the squared circle.

Right?

Whether this will happen is up in the air.

Her name has been brought up on WWE television before. Usually, it happens when someone is jeering Otunga about him free loading off of her.

Adding her to a storyline that includes Otunga could make a Guest Host Spot on Raw successful.

David Otunga goes around backstage boasting that his A List fianceé is hosting Raw. He throws it in CM Punk’s face. Punk says he could care less about Otunga, his bow tie, or his fianceé.

Otunga challenges Punk to a match with Jennifer Hudson in his corner.  Mid-match, Otunga tells his fianceé to give him Punk’s title to use as a weapon. She refuses, and it cost him the match.

Manny Pacquiao: Professional Boxer

4 of 8

Floyd Mayweather and his small WrestleMania 24 stint was cool.

Adding Manny Pacquio would not only be good for the WWE but add fuel to a potential Pacquiao/Mayweather showdown.

Pacquiao would be a more humble approach compared to Mayweather but with the right segment, Creative can pull off a great Raw with Pac Man guest hosting.

Best way to incorporate Guest Star into Raw:

Pac Man comes out to greet the WWE Universe but is interrupted by The World’s Strongest Man, Mark Henry. Henry tells Pacquiao he respects him but knows there’s no way he can take down his boy, Floyd 'Money' Mayweather.

Pacquiao tells Henry he respects him as well but knows Daniel Bryan will take the title from him at WrestleMania.

Vin Diesel: Actor

5 of 8

If the WWE is looking for a real kick a** Guest Host look no further than Vin Diesel.

No stranger to high-paced action, Diesel would fit perfectly as a Guest Host for the unpredictable action that comes to our television screen every Monday Night on Raw.

With Diesel starring alongside The Rock in Fast Five and a rumored sixth installment of the franchise, there would be no better time for him to highlight Raw than one of the weeks leading into WrestleMania.

Best way to incorporate Guest Star into Raw:

Diesel interrupts John Cena cutting a promo on The Rock to tell Cena that he knows Rocky is going to take him down at the show of shows. Cena and Diesel continue to jaw at each other until The Rock himself comes out to join the fray.

This leads to Diesel and The Rock teaming up against Cena and a partner of his choosing in Raw’s main event.

Justin Bieber: Singer/Former YouTube Sensation

6 of 8

There has been a ton of speculation that Bieber fever will make its way to the WWE.

Many believed it would be at last year’s WrestleMania, but The Rock and Snooki were the celebrity highlights of the show.

There is a rumor that he will sing the National Anthem at WrestleMania 28, and that would be decent publicity for the WWE.

If the WWE and Justin Bieber were to join together for a Raw it would be 10 times bigger.

Bieber in a small capacity Guest Host position would bring up the ratings, which the WWE seems to still live and die by every week.

With him being worth so much, its unlikely that Bieber would get physical but him hosting should lead to some entertaining backstage segments.

Best way to incorporate Guest Star into Raw

WWE Divas playing groupie to Bieber backstage while Zack Ryder tries numerous comedic ways to sneak into Bieber’s dressing room but security won’t allow it.

Just when Ryder loses hope, Bieber calls him out to the ring and reveals himself as being a huge fan of Z! True Long Island Story.

Aaron Rodgers: QB for the Green Bay Packers

7 of 8

There is no other way for a Super Bowl MVP to celebrate his victory other than sporting one of the richest prizes in sports entertainment.

The QB of the Green Bay Packers is having a incredible season and seems to be on his way to a perfect NFL season. Right around WrestleMania 28, Rodgers would be the perfect fit to Guest Host Raw.

Don’t be surprised if he shows up with some of the other members of the Pack. Clay Matthews, perhaps?

Aaron Rodgers would bring some great media publicity to Raw and probably land the WWE on SportsCenter or at least ESPN First Take.

Best way to incorporate Guest Star into Raw

The Miz interrupts Rodgers embracing the WWE Universe to tell him he is a die hard Cleveland Browns fan and that he hates Rodgers along with the rest of the Packers.

Rodgers and Matthews team up with John Cena to face The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, and Jack Swagger in Raw’s main event.
