Rajon Rondo Video: Watch Celtics PG Give Rudy Gay an Alley-Oop off His Forehead
Rajon Rondo and Rudy Gay will likely never play together in the NBA, but they are sure an exciting duo when they team up.
While it’s not professional basketball, watching stars like this perform insane feats on the basketball court is still fun. This event, the Boston Charity Classic, occurred at Harvard University and raised money for local charities.
Paul Pierce, Kendrick Perkins, Nate Robinson, Rudy Gay, Jeremy Lin and Leon Powe all made appearances to help the cause and all have had ties to the Celtics or a college in the northeast.
Very little defense was played in this game, which is why you got to see incredible moves like Rondo serving a basketball off of his head to Gay, who was trailing him to gently put it down for an easy one-handed slam.
Other highlights from the game include Lin making disgusting deep three-point shots and Perkins running the point.
While this kind of stuff is fun to watch occasionally and good for the community, it cannot replace the NBA’s excitement.
So why don’t we have a season?
Rondo has some pretty good ideas.
""Everybody's itching to play basketball," Rondo said. "Everybody wants to see basketball, even both sides. The owners want to see us out there playing and the guys want to be out there playing as well. Hopefully we can come to some type of agreement before it's too late. It's a simple matter of just compromising."
"
Hopefully the two sides reach a compromise in the near future before the lawsuits hit the courts and things get messy.
Paul Pierce feels the same way.
"I think both sides want to play," said Pierce. "I think both sides are equally losing. I believe (the owners) want us to be on the court and we want to be on the court."
With so many players feeling like the owners are on the same page with them, why can’t they reach a compromise?
Here’s hoping they do soon so we can watch Rondo and Gay battle it out during a game this winter instead of on the Harvard Campus
