NFL Super Bowl Odds: Tennessee Titans and 4 Longshot Teams That Could Payoff
Timing is everything.
Don’t take my word for it, just ask the guy who won $275,000 by betting on the St. Louis Cardinals to win the World Series at 999-1 odds when the Cards were 10.5 games back in the National League wild-card race.
There are other examples of big payouts for unlikely champions. The Minnesota Twins were 500-1 longshots during the season when they won it all in 1987. The St. Louis Rams won the Super Bowl in 2000 after being listed at 300-1 earlier that year.
We are too deep into this NFL regular season to find teams with such astronomical odds to win it all. There are a few underdogs, however, that have a realistic chance of bringing home the hardware for their cities—and for your wallet.

Tennessee Titans: 80-1
1 of 4Tennessee currently sits at 4-3 and is one of 11 teams in the AFC that has between four and six wins.
Fortunately for the Titans, they play in the AFC South, which is by far the worst division in the conference. Mike Munchak’s squad is just a half game behind the Houston Texans for the division lead heading into Week 9 action.
Tennessee travels to Houston to face the Texans the last week of the season—a matchup that very well may decide the winner of the AFC South and a playoff berth.
Keep in mind that Tennessee has been able to keep up in the standings with other AFC powerhouses without any type of production from Chris Johnson. This is a team that could go on a roll if CJ finds his All-Pro form.
At 80-1 odds, you’d be risking $100 to win $8,000. It’s worth a shot.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 65-1
2 of 4The Buccaneers also sport a 4-3 record through eight weeks, and have a very realistic chance at earning a postseason berth in the NFC.
Running back LeGarrette Blount is returning to action this weekend against New Orleans, which is a big lift for a team looking to make a playoff push during the second half of the season.
Can Raheem Morris lead this group of youngsters deep into the playoffs and a shot at the title? Maybe, maybe not—but to win $6,500 with a $100 risk, we’re willing to find out.
Oakland Raiders: 60-1
3 of 4The Raiders are in the middle of a lot of change and uncertainty.
Star running back Darren McFadden is injured, and so is Chris Johnson, Oakland’s best cornerback. Carson Palmer is the new quarterback, with T.J. Houshmandzadeh the new No. 1 receiver.
Despite all that, Oakland is in a three-way tie with Kansas City and San Diego for the AFC West lead with a 4-3 record.
The Raiders still have three games left against those division foes, including the last two weeks of the regular season.
Can you envision a healthy Palmer and McFadden hoisting the Super Bowl trophy in Indianapolis on Feb. 5th for their late owner Al Davis? A $100 wager would bring you a cool $6,000.
Chicago Bears: 50-1
4 of 4The good news: There are two wild-card teams that will make the playoffs in the NFC, and Chicago is a leading contender for one of those spots.
The Bears are yet another 4-3 team with high playoff hopes.
Chicago has a lot of talent on both sides of the ball and on special teams. Is this the year Jay Cutler finally puts it all together and brings a championship to the Windy City? You’d be risking $100 to win $5,000.
